Euro 2020 Qualifying – Friday 11th October Matches Tips and Betting Preview

The qualifying event for Euro 2020 continues on Friday night as three more groups play their first of two matches in this break, as we head towards the concluding period of the qualifiers for next summer’s showpiece event.

We saw the likes of Belgium and the Netherlands in action on Thursday night and on Friday evening it is the turn of England, Portugal and France to showcase their credentials on the big stage once again.

Group A

England head into the international break knowing that two wins from their two matches will see them safely through to the tournament in which they final will be in their home country. The first of those comes up against Czech Republic in Prague on Friday evening while the other match in this section of the competition sees the bottom two sides meeting when Montenegro take on Bulgaria in the fight to avoid the wooden spoon.

Group B

Ukraine lead the way in Group B of the competition and need just four points to be certain of making it through to the finals. They will be expected to pick up three of them on Friday night when they host Lithuania while the other match in the group sees the defending champions Portugal looking to enhance their qualifying claims when they go up against a Luxembourg side who are much improved but for whom this is a pretty big test of their credentials.

Group H

This has been one of the best sections of the lot to follow throughout the campaign with three good sides battling it out for the two qualifying spots and two of those meet on Friday night when Iceland host France in a match the home side cannot afford to lose. Turkey currently head the way and the will take on an Albania team who are much improved from their pathetic Nations League display while the other match in the group sees the bottom two colliding when Andorra host Moldova in a match not for the purists!

Betting

I’ll go with a couple of bets over the course of Friday night with the first one coming from Prague where I expect to see goals between the Czech Republic and England. England have scored for fun in this group but there are just a few signs that they are going to begin conceding for fun as well. Kosovo exposed their weak defence in the last match and the Czechs have the talent to do likewise here. Czech Republic can’t afford to play for a draw here so I’m expecting a pretty open match and one which will contain more than 2.5 goals.

The other bet I like on the card on Friday night is for Turkey to see off Albania. This is a very underrated young Turkey side that is doing battle these days and I expect them to keep up their winning run which has seen them win every match against from when they took on Iceland. Albania did have a great result against Iceland last time out but away from home in a hostile atmosphere I fear for them a little here. The only goals Turkey have conceded in this campaign came in that loss to Iceland. They have seen off France at home in this group and I expect them to add Albania to their list of victims.
