The final round of Euro 2020 qualifying matches takes place on Sunday with three groups finalising their campaigns and in some cases looking to reveal the qualifiers for the main event across Europe next summer.
The attention will be on Portugal on Sunday afternoon as the defending champions look to seal their place in the main draw. England have already qualified but they are also in action over the course of good looking day.
Group A
England conclude their qualifying competition with a trip to a Kosovo side who have already taken it to Gareth Southgate and his men in this event and who are sure to have another good go at them. The Czech Republic have already qualified from this group as well and they will celebrate that with their final match of the campaign which sees them heading to Prague to take on Bulgaria in an empty stadium after the racism problems when England were there last month.
Group B
There is all to play for in this group on Sunday afternoon. Ukraine known they are already through but they could yet be involved in the story of the day as they travel to Serbia, a side who can still automatically qualify. They will need to win and hope Portugal lose at the same time. Portugal look to have much the easier of the two assignments though as they face a trip to Luxembourg needing to just match the Serbia result to qualify for the main stages.
Group H
We already know which two sides will qualify for the final stage of the championships. Turkey and France are the two teams who progress from this section so largely there isn’t a whole lot to play for in this group on the final night of action. Top spot is still to be decided though with the French travelling to Albania knowing that a win will sew things up for them. If they slip up then Turkey could yet steal the group if they can overcome a trip to Andorra. Iceland head to Moldova in the other match in the group.
Betting
We’ve already seen an incredibly high scoring contest between England and Kosovo in this campaign and I’m expecting another when the two sides meet on Sunday. The reverse fixture at Southampton saw England win 5-3 and while we might not see as many as eight goals in this one I’ve got to think the goals will come naturally and quite freely between two sides who prefer to attack the opposition but can be flaky defensively.
The goal line for this match sits at 3 which looks perfectly attainable to me. We’ve already seen England go goal crazy in this international weekend and with Raheem Sterling to come back in, I don’t think they are done there. There is absolutely nothing to gain for Kosovo for sitting back and being tight so I’m expecting to see more than three goals in this one.
