Euro 2024 Qualifying – Saturday 18th November Matches Tips and Betting Preview

The penultimate set of matches in the qualifying competition for Euro 2024 concludes on Saturday when the three groups which have yet to be on show in this international break take to the pitch on what is a key day for many.

Automatic places at the finals are up for grabs on Saturday and those who can’t get those will look to enhance their hopes of reaching the play-offs so there is lots to play for on a day where the likes of France, Croatia and the Netherlands are on show.

Group B

It is a key night in Group B on Saturday. We already know that France have qualified for the finals and they will continue their campaign with a home match against Gibraltar in a contest which could be all about how many the French win by. Things are much more significant in the other game where the Netherlands will secure their qualification if they can win at home to a Republic of Ireland side who have been eliminated for a while. Anything but a Dutch win would keep Greece interested going into the final set of games on Tuesday.

Group D

It is a pretty big night in Group D as well. We already know the leaders Turkey have qualified for the main event but with them not in action on Saturday it is all about who will follow them into the finals. Wales have their destiny in their own hands but they must win their last two games to make it through. The first of those comes in the early kick off as they travel to an Armenia side who will go above the Welsh should they win. Should Wales slip up then control would move to Croatia later in the day. They head to rock bottom Latvia knowing a win would pile the pressure on Wales on Tuesday even were the Welsh to win.

Group I

It is a big night in Group I as well and one where Switzerland can officially qualify for the finals. In order for that to happen they need to win at home to Kosovo. Romania can also secure their spot in the finals. They take on Israel in Hungary knowing that if they avoid defeat they will be through to the competition in Germany. The other match carries little in the way of significance as two already eliminated sides meet when Belarus host Andorra in the earlier kick off.

Betting

There isn’t a huge amount that I like over the course of Saturday but the situation of Group I is likely to ensure that we have every chance of seeing an over 2.25 goal line land when Israel take on Romania. The equation for this one is pretty simple. Israel have to win so we are going to see them go on the attack but that might just play into the hands of Romania, who will fancy their chances of getting the job done in this encounter and might feel they have to with a clash with Switzerland to finish the group.

Should Romania get the first goal then Israel will need to open up even more but were Israel to get it then Romania can’t just sit back and get beat because there are no guarantees that they beat Switzerland on Tuesday while you would imagine Israel are going to make pretty short work of Andorra on the same night. That could easily see this one turn into one of the crazy games like we’ve seen this week, especially if they opening goal comes early. I like over 2.25 goals here.
