Euro 2024 Qualifying – Sunday 26th March Matches Tips and Betting Preview

The second set of matches in Euro 2024 qualifying gets underway on Sunday when the groups who were first in action on Thursday night are back in the spotlight as they conclude their international break over the course of the day.

That means we get to see the likes of England, Italy and Denmark all on show once again. All three were semi-finalists at the last Euros and will be looking to make progress towards the main tournament on Sunday.

Group C

Two matches take place in Group C over the course of Sunday. North Macedonia are the team who will be watching on not in action in the second set of games. The first match on Sunday comes from Wembley Stadium where England will play host to a Ukraine team who start their campaign in this encounter. This was a quarter final in Euro 2020 which England won and they will be out for the same result. Two sides who lost their first match meet in the later game to kick off when Malta entertain the defending champions Italy.

Group H

The Sunday action will begin in Group H when the early kick off takes place out in Kazakhstan. They will be looking to rebound from surrendering the lead in their opening match when they play host to Denmark. The second match in this group comes along in the middle kick off time when Slovenia will be bidding to follow up that impressive win in their first game when they host lowly San Marino. The final match comes in the later kick off slot as Northern Ireland aim to follow up their win in San Marino in matchday one when they host a Finland side who were beaten in their first game.

Group J

This is the group where Portugal will be aiming to dominate and they got off to a solid start with a 4-0 win over Lichtenstein in their first game. They will be looking to follow up that victory when they make the trip to Luxembourg. That is one of the late games and the other one sees Slovakia meeting Bosnia-Herzegovina in a match which could have a big impact on who finishes second in this section. There is one other match in the group which comes in the early kick off when Liechtenstein take on Iceland in a match the visitors certainly can’t afford to lose.

Betting

I think the best bet on Sunday comes at Wembley Stadium where I am expecting there to be goals between England and Ukraine. England showed in Naples on Thursday that they have no shortage of attacking talent. In the first 45 minutes in particular they looked like scoring every time they went forward but in the second half they looked vulnerable every time Italy attacked them. England will be without Luke Shaw but I only think that will help the goals because Ben Chilwell is a whole lot better going forward than defensively.

In addition to that, Jordan Henderson has missed some training in this international break and Kalvin Phillips nearly doubled his Premier League minutes for the season in that first game so England might lack some legs in the centre of the pitch. There is some attacking talent in the Ukraine side. Premier League stars Oleksandr Zinchenko and Mykhailo Mudryk provide a creative influence on the side while Roman Yaremchuk and Andriy Yarmolenko will keep the England back line honest. I’m not convinced Ukraine are much at the back though and I expect England to expose that so I firmly expect to see more than 2.75 goals in this one.
