The last quarter final of the four at Euro 2024 could well turn out to be the best of them as the Netherlands look to reach the semi-final in Germany once again when they take on a Turkey team who are out to emulate the side of 2008.
These two sides will compete in Berlin hoping to move a win away from a return to the place where the final will be held next weekend and if the tournament so far is anything to go by then both teams will look to grab their opportunity.
Where to watch
The match will be shown live and in full on the ITV1 channel in the UK with the build-up to this Berlin battle beginning at 7pm ahead of the kick off at 8pm.
Netherlands
The Netherlands went into this tournament very much under the radar, which was probably a bit of a surprise when you consider their rich history at this level and the fact that they got as close to seeing off Argentina at the last World Cup as anyone, although some of the dampened enthusiasm was down to being in a tricky group and the rest of it was because a few injuries came along at the last minute which made them look weaker than they would have wanted on paper.
The longer the tournament has gone on though the better the Dutch have looked and they delivered probably their most convincing display in the round of 16 win over Romania where they were in control of the situation early and then took advantage of being ahead late on to make the score more comfortable. They will be looking for a similar performance but there is still a stronger clinical edge in front of goal to come from them too.
Turkey
It has been a breath of fresh air to watch Turkey matches at this tournament because they seem to have got themselves into a mindset that regardless of the situation and the circumstance they are going to take the game to their opposition. That is probably the right way to go because defensively they look a little disorganised at times and can unravel at any minute whereas going the other way they have some potential stars to do some damage.
The one concern for Turkey in this match and the ones to come is that they could run out of players. Nearly all of their matches have been littered with yellow cards, often given out to them, and the way the disciplinary for this tournament has been designed that is going to deprive of them of players. They are a spirited bunch though who don’t seem to worry about reputations and you sense they are going to go after the Dutch here and see what happens.

Team News
The Netherlands have reported no fresh injury concerns ahead of this match so Ronald Koeman could name an unchanged XI although Donyell Malen will be hoping for a start after scoring twice against Romania last time out.
Turkey are going to be without three players due to suspension with the match-winner Merih Demiral, Orkun Kokcu and Ismail Yuksek all banned but they do get their captain Hakan Calhanoglu and Samet Akaydin back from suspension for this one.
Betting
I think we are going to see goals here. I thought it anyway because it is the way that Turkey go about their business but when you consider that they are missing three players for this match including the big man at the heart of the defence I think the attention has to be on goals here. The Dutch haven’t exactly been tight at the back. Romania offered no threat to them but they are fairly limited offensively but Poland and Austria both opened this Dutch defence up.
It is perfectly possible that if they are clinical enough the Dutch could cover a 2.5 goal line on their own as they did in the previous match but it would be a surprise if Turkey don’t get on the scoresheet here. We did see earlier in the competition when they were outmatched against Portugal that they conceded three though and if there is an early goal in this game we have just had a taste of how crazy a Turkey game can get. The over just looks the play to me even at 4/5.
