Preview

The pick of the matches on the night could well be the one from Skopje where two sides who won their opening match of their group meet when North Macedonia go up against Wales with the winners assuming early control of their section. Liechtenstein and Kazakhstan were the two sides beaten in that group and they meet with the losers leaving themselves with far too much work to do. The night begins in Moldova when they play host to Estonia in a game both teams need to win.

The Czech Republic will have their eyes on making it through to the World Cup and they will be looking for a second win in the group when they head to Gibraltar while Montenegro were the other team to get off the mark on Saturday evening and they will welcome the Faroe Islands in a match which is pretty big for both sides. The best team on show on Tuesday evening might well be Norway. They got off to an emphatic start in their campaign on Saturday and will look to pick up another three points when they head away to take on Israel in Hungary.

Betting

I’ll conclude this international break with one bet which comes on neutral territory in Hungary as Israel host Norway in a match where I expect the goals to flow. In the ongoing Nations League season, Israel competed at the top level and in a group with France, Italy and Belgium they scored in four of the five matches which is a fair form guide. They continued their attacking play in the opening qualifier in this group when they ran up an xG of 2.54 against Estonia in a match they won 2-1.

Norway started out their World Cup qualifying campaign with an emphatic win over Moldova on Saturday afternoon in a match where they looked very strong and had a decent bench on the day too if they want to make changes, although that outing was a cruise from about the 30 minute mark so they shouldn’t be forced to change too much. Norway have scored in eight of their last 10 matches on their travels with the two they didn’t being in Spain where they barely saw the ball and in Kazakhstan on that artificial pitch. Norway have scored nine goals in their last two away games while just about a year ago Iceland scored four against this Israel outfit. I can’t trust either of these defences but with some form attackers on show I expect the goals to flow.
