India and South Africa play their final T20 match before they head to Australia for the T20 World Cup on Tuesday when they conclude their three game series in Indore on a day where form and confidence is very much the order of the day.
India have dominated this series so far and already have the spoils won with a match to spare so these two can just concentrate on getting the final preparations for the World Cup later in the month right.
India
While losing Jasprit Bumrah for the World Cup isn’t ideal for India, they are certainly making a case for being serious runners in his absence with their performances of late. If you include the Australia series which preceded this one they have won their last four T20 outings and in truth they haven’t really been threatened in any of them. If winning momentum counts for anything in Australia later in the month then India are certainly building up a fair bit of it.
When they get Down Under they are going to need to work out how they are going to address the absence of Bumrah. You would have to suggest that based on what we have seen in the matches India have been without him for that the attack misses a leader and their death bowling doesn’t look anything like as solid. They do have insane batting depth though so it might be that fighting fire with fire with the bat could be their approach if they can’t find a suitable standout death option.
South Africa
South Africa headed to India with a bit of momentum of their own behind them but all the good work of the past has largely been undone with a couple of very low key performances. They finished the last game well but the match was out of reach by the time they started performing and they didn’t show up at all in the first one so they will be looking to come out on top in this match and at least take something away from the trip with them.
The positive for South Africa was at least they scored runs in the second match with the bat. Their batting effort in the first game was bang ordinary so now it will be able delivering with the ball. The humid conditions were pretty brutal in the second game but they wouldn’t have expected to bowl as many full tosses as they did and will have been disappointed with the way it unravelled and did so as quickly as it did in that match. They’ll be looking for much better here in Indore.

Team News
India have sent KL Rahul and Virat Kohli home for a few days to rest ahead of them leaving for the T20 World Cup. Shreyas Iyer is expected to come into the side and there could be a debut for Shahbaz Ahmed.
South Africa aren’t going to drop Temba Bavuma but they could seriously do with him getting some runs here. With only a couple of days since the last game the seamers might be rotated with Dwaine Pretorius ready and waiting to come in.
Betting
We have just seen a match between these two which has contained 25 sixes and now we go to an even smaller ground which is known for delivering great batting tracks and we have a sixes line of 13.5. We’ve seen in the IPL in the past when the Kings XI Punjab have used this as a home ground just how tiny it is and with the bowling units of these two sides having struggled last time out and having bowled in pretty extreme conditions and only having a day of rest I think it stands to reason the batters will have the best of this one.
There isn’t any competitive pressure on this match and we still have a couple of six hitters who haven’t really had much of a chance who might go up the order to get time in the middle in the form of Rishabh Pant and Tristan Stubbs. Whatever the batting orders look like this very much feels like a match where the batters are going to have their own way and given the dimensions of the ground I expect the sixes to be covered here.
