Sri Lanka end their tour of India on Christmas Eve when the two sides meet in the third and final T20 international at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. India have already won the series and will be looking for yet another whitewash. Sri Lanka will be looking for a win to take something away for their efforts.
India
The Indians may not have their strongest batting line up on show in this series but they have put together two excellent batting efforts so far and it would be a real surprise if they don’t have a third such performance given the nature of the wicket and if they do have a third then the whitewash has to be extremely likely.
Once they have piled the runs on the board the Indian leg spinners have spun webs around the Sri Lankan batsmen to add a decent amount of gloss on the two wins. They might not extract much turn out of this wicket but in truth they are all over the batsmen at the minute and they might beat them as much with the power of the mind as anything else.
Sri Lanka
I would imagine after the three beatings they have taken in their last three outings in both the 50 over and 20 format that Sri Lanka just want the plane home now, especially at this time of year where their loved ones will be of comfort to them. They look a very beaten side which is a little sad to see really.
While their standard with the ball has been terrible I do give their bowlers credit for sticking at the task in hand even though it has been quite clear that they have not been good enough either to take wickets or to contain the Indian batsmen. We did at least see some fight from Sri Lanka with the bat in the previous game.
Team News
India could decide to use the players they have not yet played in this series in this match. That means Deepak Hooda and Basil Thampi could come in for their debuts.
Guessing the Sri Lanka team is never easy but we do know that there will be no Angelo Mathews who will not be sent into battle again after picking up an injury in the previous match.

Betting
Sri Lanka look completely done to me so I expect India to win this match and I wouldn’t be at all surprised if the outrageous margins of victory are maintained in this final game. India will probably make changes but they have come too far to not want to secure a series whitewash so I still expect them to be bang at it and conditions at the Wankhede should be right up the home side’s street.
India should pile up the runs on this wicket and while Sri Lanka should score on it too the eight overs of leg spin will make a difference once again so I’m happy to take the home side to round things off by covering the handicap.
