Major League Cricket 2024 – Los Angeles Knight Riders vs Seattle Orcas Tips and Betting Preview

The Major League Cricket season continues on Tuesday night when we are back in Dallas for the match between the fancied Los Angeles Knight Riders and the Seattle Orcas in game six of the relatively new campaign.

The Knight Riders have won one and lost one to open up their campaign while the Orcas were beating in their only outing so both teams will be eager to get the win here and put themselves in a more comfortable position.

Los Angeles Knight Riders

The Los Angeles Knight Riders were fast out of the blocks this season with a win in their opening match but they took a mighty beating in their second one and it will be interesting to see how they respond to that here. They have had a couple of days to dust themselves down and work out what went wrong, which isn’t always the case in these franchise events, so we should expect a much stronger performance from them.

If they learned anything from that defeat it might be that they need to go harder in the powerplay even if the conditions are a little stick up top. In both of their matches they have been behind the game at the end of the first six overs and with the batting depth that they have they certainly have the option to go bigger up front. That will probably come naturally if they are chasing a score. They certainly need to bowl much better than they did in that second game.

Seattle Orcas

We are going to find out a lot more about the Seattle Orcas in this second match of the season for them. They weren’t very good in their opening match but it was the first game of the tournament and they were asked to bat on a ground where the conditions were largely unknown, against the team that most think are the likely winners of the competition, so they were up against it there. They need to be much better here but it wouldn’t be a surprise if they are.

The first thing they need to do though is adapt to the conditions. They are much better batting conditions here in Dallas and that will probably serve the Orcas well as they have a couple of power batters who like the ball coming onto the bat. If they bat better here then we saw enough with the ball in the first game that they can cause problems to any team, they just didn’t have enough runs on the board to get themselves back into that game.

Key Players

Andre Russell reminded everyone of his big hitting pyrotechnics in the last game that the Los Angeles Knight Riders played. His bowling has been in good touch for a while now and if he sets matches up with the bat the Knight Riders will be dangerous.

Heinrich Klaasen didn’t catch fire in the opening match for the Seattle Orcas but he will enjoy the Dallas conditions a lot more and if he comes good here he could lead his side to a victory in no time at all.

Betting

We saw a blitz of sixes from the San Francisco Unicorns in the last match on this ground and I am expecting something similar in this match between two batting powerhouses. We saw throughout the World Cup that the boundaries here in Dallas are perfectly accessible and I would imagine we are going to start moving around the square from here on in so there is going to be an even shorter boundary doing the rounds for this one.

When you look down the lists to see who we have batting you see Jason Roy, Sunil Narine, David Miller, Andre Russell, Quinton de Kock, Aaron Jones and Heinrich Klaasen among others so there is no shortage of big hitters on show. The Los Angeles bowling has just taken an absolute caning so their confidence could be a little fragile while there isn’t really any mystery in the Seattle attack. The line in this one for the sixes is 13.5 and it feels coverable with the hitters on show.
