There is one midweek match in the MLS which comes from Montreal on Wednesday night as the Montreal Impact host the high flying Chicago Fire in a big clash in the Eastern Conference.
The Fire will have the chance to move up to second in the table once again with a win here while the surging Impact will move to within two points of the top six should they take maximum points from the contest.
Montreal Impact
After an up and down season Montreal Impact have now won their last two matches and go into this match full of confidence. Having made the play-offs last season they will be eager to make a return to the postseason and a win here would be a significant step in that aim especially as it is one of their games in hand of many sides above them.
An increase in goals has been a feature of why the Impact have suddenly sprung to life but their solid home form is another. They have won four of their last five matches at Stade Saputo with just a defeat to FC Dallas in that time and there is no shame in losing to them in all fairness.
Chicago Fire
It is a credit to the season that the Chicago Fire have put together so far that the side are no longer being described as the surprise packages in this campaign and are now being talked about as potential MLS Cup winners. I saw them as that before a ball was kicked and if they can finish well and secure a top two spot it will crown a brilliant season.
A solid attacking philosophy has been very beneficial to them over the course of the season. If there is a concern is it that Nemanja Nikolic has now gone five matches without a goal but it may only take one for him to catch Fire again and it isn’t as though Chicago have struggled to score despite his dip in form.
Team News
Montreal Impact have no new injury issues to contend with which means that Ambroise Oyongo is their only injured player. They do have a trio of men who are one booking away from a suspension though.
Chicago Fire remain without the long-term injury victim of John Goossens and Jorge Bava and Daniel Johnson will also miss this match. Bastian Schweinsteiger is a booking away from a ban.

Betting
I like the thought of goals in this match. Montreal Impact matches tend to be high scoring while Chicago Fire have just come off the back of eight successive games where they have been three or more goals.
The last six matches between these two sides have had three or more in them with their meeting earlier in the season finishing 2-2. I expect to see at least three goals here which would be good enough for a push but I also would not be surprised to see a few more on top.
