As ever the bulk of the matches in the MLS weekend come along on Saturday with seven fixtures on what is another busy night in America’s top league. Both the Conference leaders are in action so the quality should be high and for those of us in the UK we have a game on TV and the rest are streamed with most bookmakers.
Saturday’s fixtures are as follows: (UK kick off time in brackets)
Chicago Fire vs Vancouver Whitecaps (00.00)
FC Dallas vs Toronto FC (00.00)
Montreal Impact vs DC United (00.00)
Sporting Kansas City vs Portland Timbers (00.00)
Columbus Crew vs Atlanta United (00.30)
Colorado Rapids vs Houston Dynamo (02.00)
San Jose Earthquakes vs Los Angeles Galaxy (03.30)

Big Matches
The match of the night is the one between FC Dallas and Toronto FC. That sees the team many believe to be the best in the league in Dallas taking on the Eastern Conference leaders in Toronto. The TV match in the UK sees the Western Conference leaders Sporting Kansas City facing the former champions Portland Timbers.
Best of the Rest
Second placed Chicago Fire take on Vancouver Whitecaps in a match where if Toronto lose the Fire could go top. The bottom two in the East meet when Montreal Impact host DC United. The losers of that will have it all to do to make the top six. Columbus Crew against Atlanta should be entertaining while in the West the matches between Colorado Rapids and Houston Dynamo and San Jose Earthquakes and Los Angeles Galaxy will have impacts on the playoff spots.
Betting
I’m going with one bet here. I must admit I strongly fancied the Chicago Fire and still think they will win but with Dax McCarty and David Accam out on international duty I’ll avoid taking them to cover a fair sized handicap.
The bet I like though is over 3 goals between Columbus Crew and Atlanta United. These are two of the most entertaining sides in the competition and they both have stacks of goals in them. The last eight matches Columbus Crew have played have contained three goals with many of them having more while Atlanta lead the league in matches which have gone over 2.5 goals.
Their MLS match earlier in the season saw Atlanta win 3-1 and I would expect just as many goals in this one with the open styles these two adopt.
