MLS 2017 – Saturday 3rd June Matches Betting Preview

It is a busy night in the MLS on Saturday as eight matches take place across America and Canada are varying kick off times. Some big sides take to the field in what is an action packed night of football in USAs top division.

Two of the eight matches are on TV live in the UK which gives us the chance to assess more of this league and get stuck into a couple of games if not the rest of them.

Saturday’s fixtures are as follows: (UK kick off time in brackets)

New York City FC vs Philadelphia Union (18.00)

Sporting Kansas City vs Minnesota (22.00)

Vancouver Whitecaps vs Atlanta United (22.30)

DC United vs Los Angeles Galaxy (00.00)

Montreal Impact vs New York Red Bulls (00.30)

New England Revolution vs Toronto FC (00.30)

FC Dallas vs Real Salt Lake (01.00)

Colorado Rapids vs Columbus Crew (02.00)

Big Matches

The leaders of the Eastern Conference, Toronto FC, head to Foxboro to take on a potentially dangerous New England Revolution side on Saturday while the two TV matches in the UK see New York City hosting Philadelphia Union and Vancouver Whitecaps against Atlanta United in what could be a belter.

Best of the Rest

Sporting Kansas City have the chance to go up of the Western Conference for 24hrs at least when they host Minnesota United while Los Angeles Galaxy will hope to continue their good form when they head to DC United. FC Dallas will look to end a slump when they welcome road shy Real Salt Lake.

Betting

I like two bets across the course of the evening. The first comes in the second televised match in the UK as the Vancouver Whitecaps take on Atlanta United where I am expecting to see goals. I’ve no idea how Vancouver didn’t score against DC United last week but they had one of those days but usually what follows that is a barrel load of goals and Atlanta won’t look to stifle them. Atlanta are in brilliant scoring form with seven goals in their last two and with six of their last eight having four or more goals I expect over 2.75 goals in this one.

I’m also going to side with the Montreal Impact. They’ve only played five home matches this season but they have two wins and a draw from them and they now go up against a New York Red Bulls side who have lost their last five matches away from home and haven’t scored in any of the last three. Montreal go into this match off the back of a resounding win over Portland Timbers last time out and I expect them to have too much for a Red Bulls side that look nothing like the same team since Dax McCarty left them.
