It is rivalry weekend in the MLS again this week and it all begins on Friday evening when the first two matches take place. There is one of the bigger rivalries in the competition in the second match while the first one is an important match in its own right.
Both these matches are live on Free Sports in the UK and take place at a perfect time for anyone coming home from the pub after a few jars so there is no reason to miss any of what should be a great night of football.
Orlando City vs Atlanta United (01.00)
The first match of the weekend sees the business end of the Eastern Conference very much in the spotlight when Orlando City host the champions Atlanta United in a huge match for both sides. Atlanta will be looking to extend their lead at the top while Orlando will move into the top seven with a win.
My gut feeling here is that Atlanta will win the game but we’re not really getting much juice from the oddsmakers for an away win at just about even money and I’ve got to say I think there is a lot of draw potential around this week which puts me off a lot of these matches. This is one of them. If we got a juicier price on Atlanta I’d take it but we don’t so that is that.

Portland Timbers vs Seattle Sounders (03.00)
The second match of the night is the latest leg of the Cascadia Cup contest as the Portland Timbers host the Seattle Sounders in a match which might well be replayed in the postseason at some point later in the campaign.
That is assuming that both sides make it, which surprisingly isn’t guaranteed even though they are regulars in the business end of the season. Portland are decent at home but they lost their last time out, albeit to Atlanta United. They take on a Seattle side who have lost their way since the Gold Cup break so normally you would expect Portland to win this but these Cascadia Cup matches are usually very tight so this is another one I’m happy to sit out.
