MLS 2020 – Saturday 26th September Matches Tips, TV and Betting Preview

We have a largely delayed weekend schedule in Major League Soccer this week with the majority of the matches taking place on Sunday however the action actually gets underway on Saturday with a couple of fixtures to enjoy.

Both the matches are live on TV for those of us who are in the UK so there is no need to miss any of the action as four sides continue their push for the play-offs and look to get the early march on those around them this weekend.

Nashville SC vs Houston Dynamo (20.30 – Sky Football)

The opening match of the night sees Nashville SC continuing their first season in Major League Soccer when they host a Houston Dynamo side who have gone right off the boil and are in danger of missing out on the play-offs if they are not careful.

It is four matches without a win for the Dynamo now after a good period of form coming out of the MLS is Back tournament and the departure of Alberth Elis in midweek suggests they are a team undergoing something of a transition at the minute. It is the opposite for Nashville SC. They remain undefeated on their home patch and are starting to warm to the MLS task quite nicely even in this hectic schedule that teams are having to embark on.

I’m not sure what it is that has gone so wrong for the Dynamo but they’ll have their work cut out turning it around against a Nashville side who probably match up quite well against them in that they will offer little to no room for counterattacks defensively and have enough about them to take advantage should Houston get sloppy. Form and formation makes Nashville a decent enough looking bet.

New York City FC vs FC Cincinnati (00.00 – Free Sports)

The second match of the night comes from the Eastern Conference as New York City FC will host FC Cincinnati for the second time in a matter of a few weeks after NYCFC were 2-1 winners when they met a couple of weeks or so ago.

You would think New York City FC would be the team most likely to win this match as they are the better of the two sides but FC Cincinnati have proven stubborn to beat under Jaap Stam and the price on New York City FC doesn’t really reflect the chances that Cincinnati could contain them and get something out of the game. You either have to risk a short price and get little value on NYC or take a punt on a handicap which looks a little big neither of which I’m particularly interested in doing. Cincinnati don’t score enough for me though so I can’t back them either so this is a no bet contest for me.
