Even though we are right in the middle of the Gold Cup, the Major League Soccer season continues on Saturday evening when another round of matches get underway with the teams looking to survive the loss of some big players to pick up more points.
There are 11 matches taking place over the course of the evening with four of them live on the TV across the two channels who cover this league in full. As ever those and all the other matches will be available to watch on the bookmaker streaming services.

Big Matches
The televised action begins right from the beginning of the evening as the former champions Atlanta United play host to the current table toppers in the Eastern Conference in New England Revolution in a good looking match. When they are done we head to the Big Apple where the New York Red Bulls go up against an Inter Miami side who you just feel are at a crossroads in their existence at the minute. The action remains in the Eastern Conference for the third match of the night as the Supporters’ Shield holders Philadelphia Union take on the form horses of DC United. There is one match from the Western Conference on our TV screens too and that sees the Vancouver Whitecaps taking on LA Galaxy.
Best of the Rest
It is a big night for two sides on Saturday evening as for the first time in well over a year CF Montreal and Toronto FC finally get to play a match on their home ground with the league opening back up to Canada. Montreal welcome FC Cincinnati to the Stade Saputo while Toronto FC go up against Orlando City at BMO Field. The other matches sees the champions Columbus Crew playing host to New York City FC in a sleeper for the match of the night while elsewhere Nashville SC host Chicago Fire, the Colorado Rapids take on San Jose Earthquakes, Los Angeles FC welcome Real Salt Lake to the Banc of California Stadium and the Portland Timbers host FC Dallas.
Betting
This isn’t a set of matches to get too stuck into because almost all of the sides are decimated by players being away at the Gold Cup so it is a case of picking and choosing who will be least inconvenienced by all the departures and things like that. While players have been away for more than a week now, this is the first match without them for most sides so form is likely to go out of the window for a while which is never a good thing. I will go with one bet though.
New England Revolution haven’t been in the greatest form in the last couple of matches but they haven’t lost too much to the Gold Cup. Goalkeeper Matt Turner and exciting winger come full-back Tajon Buchanan have gone but the remainder of their key players are all still here. That isn’t the case for Atlanta United who have lost Brad Guzan, George Bello, Miles Robinson and Ezequiel Barco to international duty while Emerson Hyndman and Mo Adams are long-term injury victims. If that isn’t enough, head coach Gabriel Heinze appears to be making a rod for his own back by alienating Josef Martinez and making him train away from the main group which suggests he won’t be featuring here either. That is a brave move at the best of times let alone when your side hasn’t won in seven and have only won two matches all season. New England have had less disruption and I think that gives them a great chance to pick up the points and get their campaign back on track.
