The MLS returns from the international break this weekend and it does so with the attention now very much on who will move themselves into a position to strike for the title in the second half of the regular season.
We had two matches on Friday evening and another 10 take place over the course of Saturday with three of those 10 live on the two channels which cover this league in the UK. The other seven are all live on the bookmaker streams although some of them clash with each other.

FC Cincinnati v Colorado Rapids (00.30)
New York City FC v New England Revolution (00.30 – Free Sports)

Big Matches
The first of the TV matches for us on this side of the pond comes from the Yankee Stadium where New York City FC host the Eastern Conference leaders New England Revolution in a tasty opener. The action when heads to the capital where the UK love in with Inter Miami continues. They are on their travels to take on a DC United side who are usually tough to beat at home. The TV action concludes in the Western Conference where Portland Timbers play host to second placed Sporting Kansas City.
Best of the Rest
The big match away from the TV cameras in the UK is the one involving the Western Conference leaders Seattle Sounders. They make the trip to California to take on Los Angeles Galaxy in an iconic MLS match-up. It is a big night for the season debutants Austin FC. They finally get to play an MLS match on home soil when they play host to the San Jose Earthquakes. The reigning MLS Cup champions are also in action as Columbus Crew welcome Chicago Fire to town. Other matches include Toronto FC vs Orlando City SC and Los Angeles FC vs Houston Dynamo.
Betting
We still have players on international duty at the Copa America and Euro 2020 and we have players who have been on international duty who are having to quarantine so I’m not going to go too mad over the course of these matches while we wait for the teams to settle themselves down a little bit. There is one bet which I can’t ignore though and that comes in the match at Exploria Stadium where Orlando City are the visitors to their own ground to take on Toronto FC.
I like goals in this match. If you look at Orlando City games their success has been built on a strong defensive record but they are going to be without their influential keeper Pedro Gallese who is away at the Copa America with Peru. That won’t help them but one thing which will help the goals here is the return to Orlando of Daryl Dike. On the other side Toronto FC now have Alejandro Pozuelo back and he has had the international break to get up to speed with the training and things so he should be able to pull the strings for the Canadians. I expect both teams to approach this one looking to win so I like over 2.5 goals in this match.
