Big Matches
The first of the televised matches sees local bragging rights up for grabs when the latest instalment of ‘El Trafico’ takes place as Los Angeles FC see LA Galaxy making the short trip across Los Angeles for a big match in the Western Conference. The other match which was on TV sees the Eastern Conference leaders New England Revolution making the trip to the Big Apple to take on a vibrant New York City FC side. The other big match on the evening is the last one to kick off as Sporting Kansas City host Colorado Rapids in a clash which sees second and third meeting in the Western Conference.
Best of the Rest
Four other matches take place over the course of the evening with the first one to kick off coming from the Mercedes-Benz Stadium where Atlanta United will look to continue their fine revival when they host Nashville SC. New York Red Bulls go in search of a much needed win when they take on Chicago Fire while the most intriguing match of the evening comes from Audi Field where DC United welcome Philadelphia Union. The other match sees the Houston Dynamo going up against Minnesota United.
Betting
I’ll go with one bet over the course of the evening which comes in the big match at the Yankee Stadium where New York City FC put their six match winning streak at home on the line against the last team to beat them in a home match in the form of the Eastern Conference leaders New England Revolution. That match was 3-2 to the Revolution but that one was staged at the Red Bull Arena while the Yankee Stadium held baseball.
NYCFC will be confident of turning the tables on the Revolution in this match but they will certainly meet their match because this Revolution side have been by far the best in the MLS this season. What I like about both sides is they look to get the ball into dangerous areas and score goals and the rivalry nature of the match is only likely to ensure that remains the case here. The goal line for this one is at 3 but with NYC home matches averaging 3.2 goals per game and Revolution away matches the same I don’t think that line is high enough. I’ll play the over here.
