Big Matches

The televised action begins right from the start of the day when the latest Hudson River derby takes place as the champions New York City FC play host to city rivals New York Red Bulls. When they are done the current Supporters’ Shield holders New England Revolution take on CF Montreal in a match the home side really have to win before the final TV match comes from Rio Tinto Stadium where two sides currently in the top seven of their respective Conferences meet when Real Salt Lake play host to FC Cincinnati.

Best of the Rest

One of the biggest matches on the card is the second match of the night where Atlanta United will look to keep their playoff hopes intact when they host a Philadelphia Union who are three wins from the Supporters’ Shield title and the MLS Cup going through Subaru Park. Another match to catch the eye is the one at Q2 Stadium where Austin FC and Nashville SC meet in a clash which puts the two top scorers in the competition against each other as Sebastian Driussi meets Hany Mukhtar. LA Galaxy and Colorado Rapids are both pushing for a spot in the postseason but only one will enhance their chances when they meet in another big match while Orlando City will be looking to keep the chasing pack at bay when they host Toronto FC at Exploria Stadium.

Betting

We have one of those clashes where the situation of the table might dictate the style of the game when the New England Revolution host CF Montreal in a match there is no option for the home side but to win it if they want to be in the postseason once again. They won’t technically be done for the season if they lose this one but they would need more results to go for them than is likely so at some point the Revs will have to push for a win here.

CF Montreal have no such issues. They know they are going to be in the playoffs and so for them it is all about maintaining their form heading into them and a win here would certainly help them in that quest. This is a fixture which historically contains goals and when you add into the equation the need of the New England side I’ve got to think that this one is going to follow suit. The game line for this match is only 2.75 which doesn’t feel high enough to me.
