Preview
The televised action begins right from the off when two of the better teams in recent times meet as the 2020 champions Columbus Crew take on the Western Conference highfliers Los Angeles FC, who will be back on top of the table for 24 hours at least if they avoid defeat. The last game of the night is the other one which will be on TV for us in the UK to enjoy. That sees two more decent sides meeting when Nashville SC will host Atlanta United with both teams looking to climb their respective tables.
It is all about the Eastern Conference in the other two matches with the first of those to kick off seeing the in form FC Cincinnati in action. They will host the Supporters’ Shield holders New England Revolution, who themselves are starting to find their groove. The other match sees two sides who are lower than they would want to be in the Eastern Conference table meeting when DC United take on Toronto FC at Audi Field.
Betting
I’ll go with one bet over the course of the evening in this division. That comes in the match in Cincinnati where I’m expecting FC Cincinnati and New England Revolution to combine for a few goals. I say that because I’m not convinced by either of these teams defensively, although to be fair New England Revolution look much better in that department with Matt Turner back between the sticks. For me though the strength of these two teams is going forward.
New England certainly know that they can score against their opponents here. They put five past them in the US Open Cup a couple of weeks ago. Either side of that, Cincinnati have caught fire with four straight wins in MLS so they’ll be going into this match full of confidence and theirs is a team who are really thriving around the creative, quality talent that is Luciano Acosta. The Revs have the hottest striker in the league in Adam Buksa so over 3 goals feels like a pretty obvious bet here.
