Preview
The two televised matches are pretty important ones in the overall picture of the season. Two teams in the race for the play-offs in the Eastern Conference will be involved in one of them when Inter Miami, currently on the outside of the top seven looking in, host Columbus Crew who occupy that coveted seventh spot. In the Western Conference, Los Angeles FC will be looking to reignite their Supporters’ Shield challenge when they head to Minnesota United, who after three defeats on the spin are looking over their shoulders once again.
The Chicago Fire might be drinking inside the last chance saloon when they make the trip to Canada to take on a CF Montreal who are having a brilliant season. Things are getting pretty serious for New England Revolution who could really do with a win when they make the trip to take on the Houston Dynamo. The other match sees two strugglers in either Conference battling it out when Sporting Kansas City welcome Wayne Rooney and his DC United side to Children’s Mercy Park.
Betting
I’ll open up the midweek action with one bet and that comes in the final match to kick off where Sporting Kansas City should be too good for DC United, who while they head to Missouri unbeaten in three matches, they have still only scored four goals in their last nine outings and I sense they are going to need to score a couple of times to get anything out of this one. We know both teams are playing out time on the season but it should be easier for SKC to get up for this game being that they are at home.
DC deserve credit for their three-match unbeaten run and the win over New York City FC within that but the champions look a bit of a mess right now. After a tough opening to the season, Sporting Kansas City have now won their last three at home and have only suffered one defeat in their last six in MLS. That was away to high flying Austin FC who needed an injury time winner to seal the three points. SKC look like they have got their act together and while it has come too late for them to do anything this term, it isn’t too late for them to pick up a win here.
