NFL 2022 – Week 6 Sunday Early Games Tips and Betting Preview

Another Sunday of NFL action takes place across another busy evening in the competition, one which sees a couple of the leading lights battling it out and plenty of teams looking to enhance their position as we hit the end of the first third of the campaign.

The schedule for Sunday is a usual one as there is no London offering this week. That means we have two sets of kick off times with a game live on the TV in the UK for each as well as the Red Zone coverage and the action that the bookmakers stream.

1pm Kick Offs (6pm UK time)

The televised match in the first of the two kick off slots sees two NFC teams battling out at Mercedes-Benz Stadium when the Atlanta Falcons play host to the San Francisco 49ers. There are seven other matches to enjoy in this opening slot with just one of them being a divisional battle. That comes in the AFC South where the Jacksonville Jaguars will look to level up their record when they head to an Indianapolis Colts side who will need to be better than in that ordinary Thursday Night Football win last week.

Three matches see teams with winning records going against each other in the other games. They see the 3-2 New York Jets hosting the Green Bay Packers who have an identical record after their loss in London last week and Miami Dolphins hosting the Minnesota Vikings. That London game took New York Giants to 4-1 for the season and they travel to the 3-2 Baltimore Ravens. The other matches see the Cleveland Browns taking on the New England Patriots, the New Orleans Saints taking on the Cincinnati Bengals and the Pittsburgh Steelers hosting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

4.05/4.25pm Kick Offs (9.05/9.25pm UK time)

There are just the three matches in the later of the kick off slots on Sunday. The televised match is a repeat of a match we have seen in the last two postseasons as the Kansas City Chiefs put their unbeaten home record on the line when they host the Buffalo Bills in what is always a marquee match given the quality of the two quarterbacks involved. Both teams are 4-1 for the season and could end the night on top of the AFC.

There are two other matches in the later slot with one of those being a divisional clash. That comes in the NFC West where the Seattle Seahawks will go up against the team which hosts the Super Bowl in the Arizona Cardinals. The other match sees the champions Los Angeles Rams looking to repair some early season struggles when they welcome the Carolina Panthers to SoFi Stadium in a game the Rams can’t afford to lose.

Betting

I’m still waiting for the league to settle down a bit and while it does I’m a little reluctant to get too involved in match betting and spreads and things. There isn’t really a spread or a money line bet that I want to get involved with anyway so my bet in the Sunday games is going to come in the form of a player performance. That comes in the second of the TV games where I like the passing yards line of the Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen.

Allen has a passing yards line of 298 for this match and I fully expect him to cover that against a Chiefs defence which isn’t stopping the pass too well, as you would expect given they have a couple of rookie corners in their secondary. We saw evidence of that last week when a previously struggling Derek Carr rocked up at Arrowhead and threw for 241 yards from just 19 passes which would have been even more but for lengthy pass interference penalties. You would imagine this will either be a close match or Buffalo might have to play catch up at some point which will ensure Josh Allen throws the ball and with the hurt of the last two years in the minds of the Bills players there might not be any letting up from them in this one. I believe the Buffalo quarterback will throw for 300 yards here.
