MLS 2022 – Wednesday 29th June Matches Tips, TV and Betting Preview

The MLS 2022 season moves closer towards the halfway mark this midweek when a bunch of matches take place which get underway on Wednesday and sees a number of the potential challengers for the title in the second half of the campaign on show.

There are seven matches in total on Wednesday evening with three of them on the two main TV channels which cover the league in the UK. I almost don’t need to mention that all seven of them are on the bookmaker streams too.

Wednesday’s fixtures are as follows: (UK kick off and TV in brackets)

FC Cincinnati v New York City FC (00.30 – Free Sports)

Toronto FC v Columbus Crew (00.30 – Sky Main Event, Sky Football & Sky Mix)

Chicago Fire FC v Philadelphia Union (01.00)

Seattle Sounders FC v CF Montréal (03.00)

LA Galaxy v Minnesota United FC (03.30 – Free Sports)

Los Angeles Football Club v FC Dallas (03.30)

Big Matches

The first two TV matches on Wednesday evening come from the Eastern Conference with one of them seeing the champions New York City FC in action. They head to Ohio to take on FC Cincinnati while the other match sees the previous champions Columbus Crew on the road. They go to a Toronto FC side who had a good win over Atlanta United at the weekend and who are counting down the days until Lorenzo Insigne is available. The final TV match comes from the Western Conference where LA Galaxy look to finally fire up their season when they take on another of the disappointments so far this term in Minnesota United.

Best of the Rest

This is a really good card on Wednesday evening because both Conference leaders are on show in it. Philadelphia Union head the way in the Eastern Conference and they make the trip to take on a Chicago Fire who are propping all the other teams up in that competition. Los Angeles FC are the pace setters in the Western Conference and they play host to FC Dallas in what should be a good game to watch. The Champions League winners Seattle Sounders are also in action when they host CF Montreal while Portland Timbers welcome Houston Dynamo to Providence Park.

Betting

There was a lot to like in the win that the Portland Timbers enjoyed against the Colorado Rapids at the weekend and they look a fair price to follow up with another win when they host Houston Dynamo, a team who like a lot in MLS this term are in a spell where they are trying to line up the building blocks within a foundation to offer up some improvement going forward. As such they are a team who probably aren’t going to finish the season in the position they are in.

Portland are struggling in terms of their league position and the amount of goals they have conceded this season is more than a primary concern although I’m not sure the Dynamo are the team who are going to take advantage of that though. A lot of the Timbers’ strife this term has been down to injuries and they are slowly but surely getting over all of those. That means they come in here as a fresh side and against a Houston team who rarely travel well this should be a great opportunity for another home win.
