MLS 2024 – Sunday 10th March Matches Tips and Betting Preview

The latest round of matches in the MLS 2024 season concludes on Sunday night when the last three fixtures take place on an evening where three teams who were in the Champions Cup in the week get the chance to show why they represent the competition in that tournament.

As with every match this season all three matches are going to be live on the MLS Season Pass on Apple TV although you’ll need a couple of devices to watch all three as two kick off at the same time. Bookmaker live streams are another way of watching.

FC Cincinnati vs DC United (19.00)

The opening match of the night sees the Supporters’ Shield holders FC Cincinnati taking on a much more dangerous looking DC United side in what should be a decent contest if the legs of the Cincinnati players have recovered from their midweek exertions.

DC United will be hoping that they haven’t and that they can get after Cincinnati but we know Cincy are a very strong defensive unit and they have the physicality in that backline to contain Christian Benteke which is a significant amount of the threat which will be posed to them here. The question might well be whether Cincinnati have it in them to get at DC, which if Luciano Acosta plays you would imagine they will. Cincinnati were not able to rest anyone on Thursday night though and their Champions Cup debut is hanging by a thread so you wonder if something will give here. This is one to check the team news but if Cincinnati make wholesale changes this could be a great opportunity for DC.

Nashville SC vs LA Galaxy (19.00)

The other game to kick off in the first part of the evening comes from GEODIS Park where Nashville SC play host to an LA Galaxy side who are starting to look like the side we expected them to be which might not be what Nashville need.

At one stage Nashville looked in control of their Champions Cup tie with Inter Miami when they were leading 2-0 but having seen Miami peg them back to 2-2 they now have to take that second leg in the coming week seriously and much like the game above you wonder if their focus will be on that rather than this match. If it is then LA Galaxy are going to be an interesting proposition here because they have the quality in the wider areas to hurt this Nashville side but once again we need the team sheets before we can know for sure so I’m happy to give this one a miss.

Inter Miami vs CF Montreal (21.00)

The last match of the MLS weekend comes from Florida where the pre-season favourites to win the title, Inter Miami, host a CF Montreal side who were one of the teams many struggled to get a gauge on heading into the campaign.

As it turns out Montreal look like they could be the progressive side they were a couple of years ago under their new coach but this is probably an acid test of their game because Inter Miami are full of quality everywhere you look. They also have Champions Cup action both in their legs and on the horizon so it will be interesting if something gives there, especially with their elder players like Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets and Luis Suarez. That might bring Montreal back into the game a little but there is a decent young core of players in this Miami side so I actually think we might get goals in this one. In Bryce Duke and Ariel Lassiter, Montreal have two players who were traded by Inter Miami who might feel like they have a point to prove. Miami look to have goals in them whoever plays so I think over 2.75 goals lands in this one.
