MLS Cup Playoffs 2023 – Saturday 2nd December Matches Tips and Betting Preview

The two MLS Conference titles will be won on Saturday night when the MLS Cup Playoffs 2023 Conference finals get played out on what looks set to be a standout night of football in the leading competition in America.

We have four very good and extremely watchable sides on show and all four teams will begin the night knowing a place at the MLS Cup Final is the reward for winning. Apple TV or the bookmaker live streams carry all the action.

FC Cincinnati vs Columbus Crew (23.00)

The first Conference title to be decided is the Eastern Conference where the two Ohio rivals meet in what will only add to the intensity of the game as the Supporters’ Shield winners FC Cincinnati host the former champions Columbus Crew.

Cincinnati have been the team of the season and they are now two wins away from securing a first MLS Cup title but you sense they are going to have to work hard to see off a Columbus Crew who are one of the most dangerous teams in MLS. The Crew might feel that away to their rivals they don’t have a whole lot to lose but they will also know that if they come out on top in this match they will host the MLS Cup Final next week. I think these are the two best teams in the league and if they play to their potential then we are in for a terrific contest but the Crew are my outright bet and they’ll land the place money if they win this so that is all the interest I need in this one.

Los Angeles FC vs Houston Dynamo (02.30)

The second game is the Western Conference final which involves the reigning champions Los Angeles FC, who are looking to make it back to the MLS Cup Final when they host the US Open Cup winners Houston Dynamo.

This has all the potential to be another cracking contest between two very good teams. On their day LAFC have shown that they can beat anyone in this competition but the Houston Dynamo don’t fear anyone these days and have already done the regular season double over the champions, although it should be said that those matches with within four days of each other and it was a much changed Los Angeles side for the second of those encounters. If this was in Houston I would give the Dynamo a real chance here but they are not the same side on their travels as they are at home. This will be a full strength Los Angeles side that they meet here and I just think the champions will be too good in a match which might be more open than we expect given the quality that is on show. I think LAFC will win and they are the kind of side who can put teams to the sword in this stadium so them to cover a 0.75 Asian handicap line makes sense to me.
