The final match of the latest week in the NFL is yet another divisional contest as the Houston Texans host the Tennessee Titans in the Monday Night Football with the picture in the AFC South very much in focus.
Houston currently lead the way with a 7-3 record but the Colts are hot on their heels at 6-5 and the Titans will move onto that mark too if they can triumph in this game. Given all that another extremely competitive match awaits us.
Houston Texans
When Houston dropped their opening three matches this season they could have been forgiven for thinking that this season would be a write off but to their eternal credit they regrouped and have won seven matches since and look to be on a real charge towards the postseason. A win here would probably put one foot into the play-offs for them even if only via a wildcard berth.
The Texans’ pass rush is well vaunted and a clear part of their success but the class and quality of DeShaun Watson is another reason why they are going so well. He has one elite receiver in DeAndre Hopkins and an astute running game and that has been more than enough to lead them to seven successive wins.
Tennessee Titans
Tennessee returned from London and came out of their bye with two successive wins which was important given the questionable late decision at Wembley that cost them a genuine shot at overtime against the Los Angeles Chargers. Much of their hard work was undone last week however when they were trounced by the Indianapolis Colts.
There is either a brilliance or a uselessness about the Tennessee Titans and if they are going to make it through to the postseason they will need to find a consistency to their game pretty quickly and they could do with that starting here. They need a safe game from Marcus Mariota if they are going to get a road win here.

Betting
It appears as though Marcus Mariota is fit to feature here despite his injury last week but I’m still expecting a tight and low scoring match. Neither quarterback is going to get much time here with the pass rushes on show and there is an air of a safety first approach about both sides going forward.
I can see this match being one where drives build up but stall in or around the red zone so barring some special defensive or special team plays I don’t see the scoring going beyond 44pts. At 4/5 that is a perfectly acceptable price to take the under and side with the defences on what should be a competitive night.
Tips
Back Under 44pts for a 4/10 stake at 1.80 with William Hill
