Another bunch of matches in Week 6 of the NFL season takes place on Sunday and for the first time this season the league heads to London for a Wembley clash between the Oakland Raiders and the Seattle Seahawks.
That is the clear highlight for UK NFL fans but there are plenty more decent matches to enjoy either on Red Zone or live on Sky including a couple of tasty looking division battles as the season continues to head towards the halfway stage.
1pm Kick Offs (6pm UK time)
It is in this time slot that the Wembley match will get the centre of attention and with both the Oakland Raiders and the Seattle Seahawks both having losing records both teams will be keen to win there. We also have a couple of divisional matches in this group of games with the Atlanta Falcons playing host to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFC South and Cincinnati Bengals taking on the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC North.
Elsewhere Cleveland Browns will look for another win when they entertain the Los Angeles Chargers while two sides who are 2-3 for the season meet when the Houston Texans host the Buffalo Bills. The Miami Dolphins and Chicago Bears both have winning records and they meet in Miami and the New York Jets host the Indianapolis Colts. Minnesota Vikings will be expected to beat the Arizona Cardinals and in the other match the Washington Redskins welcome Carolina Panthers to town.
4.05/4.25pm Kick Offs (9.05/9.25pm UK time)
There are three matches in the later half of the evening with the TV match for those of us in the UK seeing two sides with 3-2 slates for their campaign going at it when the Tennessee Titans host the Baltimore Ravens. All eyes will probably be on the undefeated LA Rams however. They head to Mile High to face the Denver Broncos. The other match sees the Dallas Cowboys taking on the Jacksonville Jaguars in a tasty looking clash.
Wembley Game Betting
I was going to get involved in a number of bets or markets for the Wembley game but unfortunately the weather in London is awful today. The rain is showing no sign of disappearing and the air is heavy so I’m expecting the Oakland Raiders and the Seattle Seahawks to do plenty of grounding and pounding in what could turn into something of a slugfest. Both sides have solid defences against the run though so I’m not expecting a high scoring classic here. We’ve seen a fair few of these Wembley games turn into tough contests in the past and this can be another. I’ll be the under 48.5pts here.
Other Matches
Elsewhere I like the look of three bets. In the match in Atlanta between the Atlanta Falcons and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers I think over 6.5 touchdowns is a good bet. I’m expecting plenty of quick drives between two pretty powerful offenses and with the passing game of both able to take off indoors there is nothing to suggest we won’t see a hatful of touchdowns. Both have been involved in plenty of high scoring matches this year and rather than take the larger total points line the touchdowns offer the better alternative.
Cleveland Browns have been on a good run this season but I think they might meet their match when they take on the Los Angeles Chargers. The Chargers are nothing massively special but at the same time they don’t do a whole lot wrong and that solidity can get the job done against a Cleveland side for whom the difference between their best football and their worst is far too good. The Chargers offer a solid defence and a rounded offense and I think they’ll deliver a bit of a beating to the Browns.
Dallas Cowboys have looked very hit and miss this term and now they run into the Jacksonville Jaguars defence that is always tough to get the better of. Worryingly for the Cowboys here could be the fact that the Jaguars have found a passing game all of a sudden with a bunch of yards for Blake Bortles in recent weeks. If the Jaguars can keep the reins on Ezekiel Elliott then I would expect them to pick up another win to bounce back from a game effort against the Kansas City Chiefs last week.
