NFL 2019 – Week 2 Sunday Early Games Tips and Betting Preview

It might only be week two of the NFL season but we have some great matches on offer in the regular two kick off times, some of which look of big importance to teams even this early in the campaign after their efforts last week.

The early matches on Sunday take place on two kick off times with two of them live on TV in the UK and things like RedZone to keep us up to date with everything that is going on in those which Sky isn’t focusing on.

1pm Kick Offs (6pm UK time)

The first TV game of the two early games on Sunday comes from Lambeau Field where Green Bay Packers will be looking to build on their opening night win to make it 2-0 in the division as they host NFC North rivals Minnesota Vikings, who themselves will be looking for a second win of the campaign. There are four other divisional matches in this set of games too. In the AFC South the Jacksonville Jaguars head to the Houston Texans while the Indianapolis Colts travel to Nashville to take on the Tennessee Titans. In the AFC East the New England Patriots are among the biggest favourites you’ll find to see off the Miami Dolphins and over in the NFC East the Washington Redskins play host to the Dallas Cowboys.

In the other matches two exciting young quarterbacks collide when the Baltimore Ravens host the Arizona Cardinals while the Cincinnati Bengals will be looking to recover from their defeat to the Seattle Seahawks last week when they collide with the San Francisco 49ers. The Detroit Lions take on the Los Angeles Chargers, New York Giants host the Buffalo Bills and the Pittsburgh Steelers take on the Seattle Seahawks in the other matches.

4.05/4.25pm Kick Offs (9.05/9.25pm UK time)

The televised match in this set of games is a repeat of the NFC Championship game from last season which ended so controversially with that no call pass interference play as the New Orleans Saints head on the road to face the Los Angeles Rams. There are only two other matches in this kick off slot. The Oakland Raiders will look to go 2-0 in the AFC West when they host the Kansas City Chiefs while two sides who lost tamely last week meet in Colorado when the Denver Broncos take on the Chicago Bears.

Betting

I’ll take a couple of bets in these matches with the first one coming on the Los Angeles Chargers. They showed enough last week to suggest the Melvin Gordon might not be the loss that he was portrayed to be. Detroit Lions looked to be cruising last week but then imploded in the final quarter and almost got done up by Arizona Cardinals and their rookie quarterback and that will inevitably bring a bit of doubt and vulnerability to their camp. The Chargers will take a bit of stopping this season and I’m not convinced the Lions have quite the balance just yet to do it. On the money line at acceptable odds it is the Chargers for me.

Two sides who disappointed badly last week were the Denver Broncos and the Chicago Bears but I was more concerned with the Bears than the Broncos. Chicago haven’t changed coach or anything like that so the weakness of their performance was a real issue for me. You could tell that the Broncos were a team under a new head coach and one who was pulling the strings for the first time. The good thing last week was the Denver defence looked alright so if they can find their offense then there is something there for them. Chicago were so poor offensively last week that you wonder if Trubisky can handle the expectation which was the big question mark heading into the season. At odds against I’ll chance the Broncos.
