The Sunday Night Football this week was due to come from Las Vegas but with doubts over whether that fixture would go ahead, the schedule was flipped around a little and it now focuses on the big NFC West clash between the Arizona Cardinals and the Seattle Seahawks.
The Seahawks go to the desert undefeated for the season and currently in full control of the division but a win for the 4-2 Cardinals would throw everything wide open again in what is probably the best division in the game right now.
Arizona Cardinals
The Cardinals go into this match off the back of a slightly shorter week having competed in the Monday Night Football last week but in truth that win was a complete stroll for them so I wouldn’t imagine that will be an issue here. Kyler Murray lit that match up and all eyes will be on the former number one draft pick to see if he can do the same against a Seattle side who historically are defensively strong but not quite so much this term.
As well as his legs, Murray has some real weapons in the passing game with the likes of DeAndre Hopkins and Larry Fitzgerald known to all but emerging receivers such as Christian Kirk and Andy Isabella. They look to have the offensive side of the ball covered so if their defence can match up well then they could be the sleepers in the NFC even in a division as tough as the one they are in. That defence will be tested here though.

Seattle Seahawks
The Seattle Seahawks aren’t winning matches particularly comfortably but they are winning matches, indeed they’ve won all five this season and you can never criticise a team for winning. Their last four wins have come by a combined 21 points so they are holding themselves together well under the pump and down the stretch and finding ways to get the job done. In an ideal world they would look to win a little easier moving forward but as long as they win I don’t suppose they’ll care too much.
The big reason for this fine start to the season has been the immensely good play of Russell Wilson. He and some underrated receivers are having great campaigns to date but they have needed to because their defence has not been as strong as it might have been. That was recognised when they tried to add to their offense power earlier in the week when they looked to sign Antonio Brown. If their defence doesn’t step up to the plate Wilson will need to continue to play to an elite level.
Betting
I’m expecting to see plenty of points here. We saw on Monday night that the Arizona Cardinals have plenty of points in them and we’ve seen all season long that the Seattle Seahawks do. Given that the Seahawks defence doesn’t look in great shape at the minute there is no reason why the talented Kyler Murray can’t continue to feast on that in what is likely to be something of a shootout over the course of the evening.
Arizona look better on defence than their opponents here but that doesn’t mean that Russell Wilson will be tamed easily. He hasn’t been controlled yet this season and although Arizona are stronger than many of the defences he has come up against there were one or two signs against Dallas the other night that their secondary isn’t as strong as they would like. This is Arizona’s last game before their bye week so they can give it their all while Seattle come in off the bye so they should be fresh. Over 54.5 points will do me here.
