We have a double header of action Monday Night Football for Week 7 in the NFL 2024 season and it gets underway in Florida where the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will play host to the Baltimore Ravens in a tasty looking clash.
Both teams are 4-2 for their season and sat on top of their division heading into the week and a win would keep them at the summit and given that it would be a victory over a team with a winning record it would put a bit of a statement out.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers came out of the traps pretty quickly this season with a couple of wins although they are 4-2 for the year, they are on a loss-win sequence over the last four games and they will hope to snap that here because they are due to lose this one if that run continues. The Bucs can’t be going into the game with much more confidence after they absolutely battered the New Orleans Saints last week and after a couple of games on the road they’ll be pleased to be back home for this one.
The Bucs will be delighted with how their offense has gone this season in the main. They put up over 50 points on New Orleans last week and in the six matches they have played they have scored more than 30 points in four of them so as far as offensive output is concerned they are getting the job done. They haven’t always pulled up trees defensively which is a concern because they are sure to be tested by this Ravens offense.

Baltimore Ravens
It looked like a bit of a playoff hangover had come the way of the Baltimore Ravens when they lost their opening two matches of the season, although to be fair to them there isn’t much shame in defeats to the Kansas City Chiefs and the Las Vegas Raiders, the latter of which they should have won anyway. They have caught fire since dropping that game though and have won their last four matches and seen off some very effective offenses in the process.
The Ravens have seen off solid teams in Dallas Cowboys, Buffalo Bills, Cincinnati Bengals and the Washington Commanders with the minimum of fuss but it is their offense which has been getting the job done because the Buffalo Bills are the only team who have scored fewer than 23 points against them. That is unlike the Ravens so it will be interesting to see if that is just a bad few weeks or whether the defence has been blown open and their offense will need to push them towards the latter stages of the season.
Betting
I find it hard to believe that we won’t get a barrel load of points in this match. The Baltimore Ravens have looked close to unstoppable on offense since Derrick Henry warmed up to full gas but the Tampa Bay Buccaneers haven’t exactly been lacking in the point scoring department themselves. Of course, when we are expecting a high scoring game we need the defences to be slack enough to play their part and that appears to be the case with these two at the minute.
The line for this match sits around the 49 mark and that doesn’t feel high enough. We’ve seen Baltimore run up the points in the second half of games when Henry and co have drained the life out of a defence but Baker Mayfield and friends are more than capable of feasting on a defence, especially one which doesn’t cover slot receivers very well. We haven’t always seen high scoring Monday night games this season but I do think this will be one which is. I like the over here.
