Week 15 of the NFL 2024 season concludes with a double header of action in the Monday Night Football with the opening game of the two to kick off coming in the NFC North where the Minnesota Vikings host the Chicago Bears.
This is a huge match for the Vikings who would move level with the Detroit Lions in the NFC North but behind based on the division record with those two meeting in the final round of the season. The Bears are playing the role of the spoiler here but have a big party to spoil.
Minnesota Vikings
Clearly this could be a season defining night for the Minnesota Vikings. If they can win this match then they know that if they win their next three games they will go into the final game of the campaign with their division title destiny in their own hands and that is the thing that any side would want when they kick off a year. Given the primetime profile of this clash they have the chance to put something of a statement out there as well.
Minnesota are 6-1 at home this season with their only loss coming at the hands of the Detroit Lions so they should be feeling good about their chances in this match. Detroit are also the only team to score more than 22 points on this ground this season aside from the Vikings so that bodes well for the home team here. Minnesota have won their last six matches and look to be going from strength to strength and will hope to put another step forward here.

Chicago Bears
The Chicago Bears go into this match with a 4-9 record for their year so they are just playing out time now and looking to build something that they can take into the next campaign with them. If they can spoil the party of a team in their division along the way then they will be more than happy with that and that will be their aim here. You would imagine they will be right up for this one given that this is a primetime game which could make them dangerous.
Ultimately, this is a Bears side who were 4-2 for their year at one point and seemingly going places under their rookie quarterback Caleb Williams but seven defeats on the spin since then, although to be fair to them, four of those losses have been by three points or less, including when they went down in overtime to the Vikings in the reverse fixture, has left them with nowhere to go. They might just be better than their record suggests though which could make them dangerous.
Betting
I would expect Minnesota Vikings to win this match but I’m less convinced about them covering seven points when the two went to overtime last month but at the same time I can’t really rush into back a side who have lost their last seven to be in any way reliable so I think the best thing to do in this match is head to the side markets where the one I like is in the receiving yards of Jordan Addison which is set at 53.5 for this game.
Addison has become a much more focal part of the Minnesota offense in recent times and has already received for 162 yards against Chicago a few weeks ago and this Bears secondary is bashed up and got second string players across the unit. Addison goes into this match off the back of 133 yards against Atlanta last week and has actually covered this total in each of the last four matches that the Vikings have played. I like the over here.
