With all the action we have had on Saturday, we have a reduced Sunday in Week 17 of the NFL 2024 season but it is still one which carries plenty of importance and significance as we head towards the final week of the regular season.
Eight matches take place in total on Sunday and as always two of them are live on the TV for us in the UK to enjoy over the course of the evening. RedZone has all the scoring plays in the other games and certain bookmakers will show the non-live games.
1pm Kick Off (6pm UK time)
We have a bunch of divisional matches in the first part of the day and the UK TV coverage takes us to the NFC East where the Philadelphia Eagles will continue their push for the number one seed in the playoffs when they host the Dallas Cowboys. The Eagles have already won the division so can play this with a bit of freedom. Dallas are playing for pride. Elsewhere, the Buffalo Bills host the New York Jets in the AFC East, Jacksonville Jaguars meet the Tennessee Titans in the AFC South and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers look to keep up their charge for the NFC South title when they host the Carolina Panthers.
That leaves two other matches in the early slate of games with the one which has significance coming from MetLife Stadium where after the Denver Broncos were beaten on Saturday night, the Indianapolis Colts can take their playoff hopes down to the last week of the season if they can come out on top against a very weak New York Giants side. Another weak team is on show in the other game as the Las Vegas Raiders play the penultimate game of their season when they travel to the hosts of the Super Bowl in New Orleans Saints.

4.05/4.25pm Kick Offs (9.05/9.25pm UK time)
Just the two matches will be on show in the later of the two kick off slots on Sunday evening with the TV game coming in the second of the ones to kick off where we head to the NFC North to see if the Minnesota Vikings can move to the top of the table for a few hours when they play host to a Green Bay Packers side who have already sewn up their playoff spot and are just playing for the number six seed. The other match sees the Miami Dolphins looking to keep their season alive when they head to the Cleveland Browns in a match the Floridians have to win else their season will be officially done.
Betting
There isn’t a huge amount that takes my fancy here largely because the majority of the really competitive stuff has already been played this week or is yet to come but there is one bet which I’ll take in the big game in the later slate of games as the Green Bay Packers head to the Minnesota Vikings in a match where I expect the 47.5 point line to be covered. Minnesota are very much playing for something here. They can still overhaul the Detroit Lions for the NFC North title and the number one seed in the Conference.
That ensures that they will be giving it their all here but Green Bay will be playing to avoid being the seventh seed and running into the Philadelphia Eagles too early in the playoffs and the Packers have a wonderful record under Matt Lafleur in December. They do have a couple of key defenders missing in the secondary though which isn’t going to help against this Vikings offense but the Minnesota defence have given up big plays through the air a number of times this season with them leaving themselves exposed when the blitz doesn’t get home. Both quarterbacks are in good nick, both offenses are piling on the points of late and there were 60 points when these two met at Lambeau Field when Jordan Love was just coming back from injury. He’s much fitter here and so over 47.5 points looks an obvious play to me.
