The majority of the matches in Week 3 of the NFL 2024 season take place in America in the early slots on Sunday as the teams look to continue to get up to speed and either enhance a strong start or repair a poor one.
Once again we have the same schedule in the UK in terms of having a live game in each of the two match slots to enjoy in full and all of the big plays in all of the matches will be covered on the RedZone show. Some bookmakers offering streaming on games too.
1pm Kick Offs (6pm UK time)
The live game in the UK in the opening set of matches takes us to the Superdome as the New Orleans Saints look to build on their perfect start to the season when they play host to the Philadelphia Eagles who will be out to make up for the defeat to the Atlanta Falcons last week. There are six other matches in the earlier slot but none of them are divisional clashes although two pit unbeaten teams against each other as the Pittsburgh Steelers host the Los Angeles Chargers and Minnesota Vikings welcome the Houston Texans to Minneapolis.
That leaves us with four other matches with perhaps most intrigue being on the one between the Indianapolis Colts and the Chicago Bears. Both have young quarterbacks leading them. Indianapolis need a win while Chicago will be looking for a second victory. The other three matches see the Cleveland Browns hosting the New York Giants, Tampa Bay Buccaneers taking on the Denver Broncos and the Tennessee Titans meeting the Green Bay Packers.

4.05/4.25pm Kick Offs (9.05/9.25pm UK time)
The TV game in the second set of matches on Sunday night takes us to Texas as the Dallas Cowboys look to bounce back from their mauling by the New Orleans Saints when they host the so far winless Baltimore Ravens in a key clash for both sides. Four other matches make up the later slate of games and we have an all-NFC West battle at SoFi Stadium where the banged up Los Angeles Rams play host to a San Francisco 49ers outfit who will be wanting to respond to their loss to Minnesota last week.
That leaves three other games with the Seattle Seahawks the only unbeaten side on show. They needed overtime to beat the New England Patriots last week and will want a much easier time of it when they host a Tua-less Miami Dolphins. Arizona Cardinals and Detroit Lions are both 1-1 for the season and they meet in the desert while Carolina Panthers will hope that their switch at quarterback will make the difference when they head to the Las Vegas Raiders.
Betting
There were one or two plays which I was tempted by over the course of the action on Sunday but having had a comfortable winner on Thursday night and with there being plays I like in the three remaining primetime matches I’m going to stay safe and just go with one bet in the earlier games and it comes in the second slot where the Las Vegas Raiders look to have a great chance to open their home season with a win against the Carolina Panthers.
Bryce Young has already paid the price for the 0-2 start for the Panthers and while Andy Dalton might offer up the chance for the meagre 13 points Carolina have managed to score to improve, even with a stronger offensive performance he isn’t going to be able to do much about the 73 points they have conceded. Las Vegas have the pass rush to have Dalton under pressure so I wouldn’t expect huge turnarounds on offense and if this defence gasses again then this lively Vegas offense could run riot like the two Panthers opponents before them have. I don’t think 5.5 points is asking too much for the Raiders to cover in their home opener.
