The majority of the NFL 2024 Week 8 matches take place in the two regular slots of games on Sunday and with no team on a bye this week we have plenty of games to get stuck into on what looks like a decent day of action.
As is always the case, we have a couple of live matches being shown in full on TV in the UK while all of the major plays will be on offer on the RedZone show. Certain bookmakers will stream the non-live matches as well.
1pm Kick Offs (5pm UK time)
Eight matches take place in the earlier of the two time slots on Sunday and the live game in the UK sees two sides who have been to the Super Bowl in recent times meeting when the Cincinnati Bengals host the Philadelphia Union in a game which is really important for the home side in particular given their 3-4 start to the campaign. Four of the other seven matches are divisional clashes with two teams from the Bengals division meeting in the AFC North when the Cleveland Browns host the Baltimore Ravens. Over in the AFC East the New England Patriots take on the New York Jets.
The other two divisional clashes come from the South where in the AFC the favourites for the division, Houston Texans, welcome the Indianapolis Colts to Texas while in the NFC the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will look to rebound from their Monday night loss when they host the Atlanta Falcons. That leaves us with three other matches with the Detroit Lions looking to continue their march towards the NFC North title when they host the Tennessee Titans while the Green Bay Packers travel to the Jacksonville Jaguars fresh from their two weeks in England. Miami Dolphins host Arizona Cardinals in the other game.

4.05/4.25pm Kick Offs (8.05/8.25pm UK time)
There are five matches in the later of the two kick off slots on Sunday when the TV action featuring the two standout draft picks at quarterback when the Washington Commanders host the Chicago Bears in a match with plenty of attention on it with the two rookies on show. We also have a divisional match in this set of games. That comes from Nevada where the Las Vegas Raiders will look to deliver a first loss on the season to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC West.
The other two teams in the AFC West are also on show in the later games when the Denver Broncos host the Carolina Panthers while the Los Angeles Chargers will look to bounce back from a weak Monday night loss to Arizona when they welcome a bashed up New Orleans Saints to the SoFi Stadium. The other match actually looks quite appealing and could easily have been the TV game as the NFC West leaders Seattle Seahawks host the AFC East frontrunners Buffalo Bills.
Betting
It is looking more and more like Jayden Daniels will play for the Washington Commanders against the Chicago Bears and that makes the game more of a shootout in my eyes and as such I’ll gladly take the 1.80 that we can get on over 44.5 points. While Daniels has caught the eye for the Commanders this season, and even in his absence last week Washington and their offense were far too good for a terrible Carolina Panthers side, their defence has been very poor and masked somewhat by their offense.
Chicago Bears are definitely improving under Caleb Williams and they have had two weeks since their Wembley win to strengthen their offensive play against a defence which looks to be there for the taking. I’m not convinced by the Bears’ form in that their three wins have come over ordinary sides in the shape of the Los Angeles Rams who were without offensive weapons, Carolina Panthers and Jacksonville Jaguars so that puts me off getting involved with the Bears but they should have enough in them to contribute to covering this 44.5 point line.
