The Premier League weekend concludes with a Monday Night Football which this week comes from Goodison Park where two teams who need points at opposite ends of the table meet when Everton host Tottenham Hotspur.
Everton are battling hard to survive in the Premier League while Tottenham are hoping to remain as a Champions League side next term. With matches beginning to run out the need for both to pick up points is an obvious one.
Where to watch
The match will be shown live and in full on the Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League channels with the build-up to the game beginning at 7pm and then kick off at Goodison at 8pm.
Everton
I think most judges assumed Everton were looking like certainties to be relegated under Frank Lampard but things are looking up a little more under Sean Dyche, although they dropped back into the relegation zone when results went against them over the weekend. They look like a side who are better equipped for the fight that they are in the middle of though, and of course in Dyche they have a man who has acquired many a survival T-shirt.
The Toffees go into this match having not lost any of their last three matches, so there is a case to be had that the international break came for them at the wrong time. They have the chance now to show that isn’t the case and if they can win here they will move up five places in the table which is a massive incentive. Everton have won three of their four home matches under Dyche and kept a clean sheet in all of them so confidence is beginning to grow in the home ranks.
Tottenham Hotspur
You could be forgiven for thinking that it is Tottenham Hotspur that are in the relegation zone such has been the mess and the fallout in their part of London over the last month or so. It looked like Antonio Conte was trying to orchestrate his own dismissal and finally during the international break he got his wish. Tottenham haven’t replaced him though, instead they have put two members of the coaching staff under Conte in charge so what sort of reaction that provides remains to be seen.
One thing which might get a reaction out of the Tottenham players were some pretty damning comments Conte made after the 3-3 draw at Southampton prior to the international break. If they have any professional pride about them then Tottenham players will be out to prove to Conte that he was wrong. I guess the fact that everyone is wondering if that will be the case rather than expect it suggests he might have had a point. The draw at Southampton means that Tottenham have only won one of their last five on their travels.

Team News
Everton have Dominic Calvert-Lewin back in training but this match will come too soon for the centre-forward. Andros Townsend misses out but Sean Dyche has no other injury issues aside from that.
Tottenham Hotspur are having to navigate a number of injuries with Emmerson Royal, Richarlison, Ben Davies and Yves Bissouma among those who will be missing. They can recall captain Hugo Lloris to the starting XI though after his recovery from injury.
Betting
This is a tricky match to bet on. You wouldn’t say either of the teams involved are particularly reliable and we really don’t know what we are going to get from Tottenham, who were inconsistent under Antonio Conte but really could be anything without him. The one thing I do expect from the Tottenham players is a reaction to those comments Conte made after the Southampton game. It would not look good if Spurs put in a tepid performance here.
We do know we are going to get physicality and aggression from Everton. That is their mantra under Sean Dyche and in a Monday night atmosphere which could be good at Goodison Park I can see this one turning into a spicy game where the referee is very busy. To be fair to David Coote, he rarely has quiet matches anyway but this just doesn’t feel like this will be one where he is not heavily involved. The reverse meeting between these two had five cards while there were six yellows and a red in the Premier League clash here last season. When you throw in how much both teams need the points, the point to prove the Spurs players have and the Sean Dyche effect I am expecting over 4.5 cards in this one.
