The Premier League weekend continues on Sunday afternoon when two more matches are played out as a couple of rivalries take centre stage on what looks like being a very tasty day of football in the top flight.
Both the matches are live on TV for us in the UK and with a couple of very entertaining teams on show and the competitive environments the matches are likely to be played in, we should be in for a great day.
Manchester City vs Manchester United (14.00 – Sky Main Event & Sky Premier League)
The opening match of the afternoon will see the bragging rights in Manchester on the line when Manchester City play host to Manchester United in one of the more high profile fixtures of any Premier League campaign.
Both teams go into this match in good form. City are yet to be beaten this season and although they started badly, United had won their last four matches prior to the international break so this should be a couple of teams full of confidence doing battle here. United don’t have the worst record in this fixture having won three straight times at the Etihad prior to their visit last season. It is hard to go against City though but defensively they can be got at. That makes me think we are going to get goals in this match but a 3.5 goal line is slightly higher than I’d like to go at even though I suspect it will be covered. I’ll watch this one without a bet.

Leeds United vs Aston Villa (16.30 – Sky Main Event & Sky Premier League)
The second match of the day comes from Elland Road where two teams who have built up a bit of a rivalry over recent times battle it out when Leeds United play host to Aston Villa in a clash I expect to be very competitive.
The two teams have a few sides below them in the table but they are only two points off the drop in Leeds’ case and one for Aston Villa so this is a match they could both do with winning, which is only likely to add to the competitiveness of it. These two have gone against each other ever since the shenanigans with the goal being awarded by Marcelo Bielsa in their Championship days and that is likely to lead to a raucous atmosphere, one which could easily see the challenges fly. I’m going to go with that theme and take over 45.5 booking points in this match. Going back to that Championship season five of the last six between these two have seen five cards shown and the other one had four. Stuart Attwell had the card out of his pocket seven times in his last Premier League game and takes no prisoners. With some feisty characters on the pitch here we could easily see the booking points mount up quickly.
