A Premier League weekend which has already been extremely dramatic continues on Sunday when another two matches take place at both ends of what is becoming a very interesting table heading into the final third of the campaign.
As ever with a Sunday, both the matches are live on the TV for us to enjoy with the attention on the bottom of the table in the early part of the day before the focus switches on what is becoming a competitive race for the top four.
Nottingham Forest vs Everton (14.00 – Sky Main Event & Sky Premier League)
Two sides who are looking to remain in the Premier League at the end of the season open up the action on Sunday when Nottingham Forest welcome Everton to the City Ground for what is a big game for both teams.
Both of them come into this match off the back of emphatic 4-0 defeats away from home in their last outings and so it goes without saying that both will be looking for a reaction from those. The Forest loss at West Ham felt far more damaging long-term and the Everton one at Arsenal but the confidence of both is going to be shot by those defeats. I think most judges expected Everton to catch fire under Sean Dyche but that hasn’t happened and while Forest are keeping their head above water, Steve Cooper will know that a defeat here sends his team right back into the relegation dogfight. If I had to choose here I would side with Forest to win this one but it would be with absolutely no confidence whatsoever so I’ll leave this one alone.

Liverpool vs Manchester United (16.30 – Sky Main Event & Sky Premier League)
The second match of the afternoon is always one of the biggest fixtures in any Premier League season as Liverpool take on rivals Manchester United at what is likely to be a raucous Anfield as the home side look to get right into the top four mix.
A win for Liverpool will move them to within three points of a Champions League spot and they would have a game in hand of Tottenham in that race too. Manchester United aren’t secure in the top four though and might not have given up hopes of launching a late title charge. If they are to do either they will need to win this one. It has been all doom and gloom around Liverpool this season but they are actually on a run of three wins and a draw from their last four while United are on a phenomenal run in all competitions themselves. Liverpool have actually kept clean sheets in their last four Premier League outings but you could argue about what sort of attacks they have gone up against, and we only need to remember the Real Madrid game for a reminder that defensively they are poor. United certainly have the attack to exploit that but I find it hard to believe they will keep a clean sheet at Anfield without seriously riding their luck so I expect to see goals in this match and I’m a little surprised the goal line is only 2.75. I’ll take the over.
