The Premier League weekend continues on Sunday afternoon when another two matches take place on a day where we could see the leaders take a huge leap towards the title while three other teams look to pick up valuable points.
As ever on a Super Sunday, both of the matches are live on the TV for us in the UK to enjoy and with the temperatures set to be very cold there is no reason not to put the feet up and watch what should be a decent afternoon of football.
Fulham vs Ipswich Town (14.00 – Sky Main Event & Sky Premier League)
The opening match of the afternoon takes us to Craven Cottage where Fulham look to move into the top eight in the table when they host an Ipswich Town side who could come out of the bottom three were they to pick up a third away win of the campaign.
Ipswich have won at Tottenham and Wolves so a trip to Craven Cottage shouldn’t hold any fears for them but at the same time this is a Fulham outfit who have only been beaten four times this term and only the top two in the league have been beaten fewer times than that. Fulham would be much higher up the table were it not for the amount of draws that they have had and Ipswich are drawing just under a third of their matches so the draw is definitely a runner here. Fulham have drawn their last three at Craven Cottage which includes a goalless draw with Southampton in that run so I’m certainly of the thought process that the Cottagers are plenty short enough here but I can’t say that I’m in an incredible rush to back Ipswich. Their wins over Tottenham and Wolves away from home are creditable but they have conceded two of the three most goals against totals at home this season. I’m not a draw backer so I’m happy to leave this one alone.

Liverpool vs Manchester United (16.30 – Sky Main Event & Sky Premier League)
The pick of the two matches on Sunday afternoon comes from Anfield for what is one of the historically biggest clashes in any Premier League season as Liverpool host their rivals Manchester United in a massive game for both sides.
United are creeping ever closer to the bottom three and are desperate to halt their slump while Liverpool are blazing a trail at the top of the table and can move eight points clear with a win here. This used to be a really competitive fixture but it hasn’t been in recent times. Liverpool cruised to a 3-0 win at Old Trafford earlier in the season while in recent meetings at Anfield, Liverpool have a 7-0 win and a 4-0 win. In fact, Manchester United have only scored one goal in their last seven trips to Anfield in the Premier League. That is when United have looked remotely competent which is something this current guise really don’t. They were blown wide open by Newcastle on Monday night and you’ve got to think the best front three in the country and a rampant midfield trio will feast all over this Manchester United outfit. United have lost five of their last six, failed to score at Arsenal and Wolves under Ruben Amorim and even at Man City in the game they didn’t lose they were bang average before a crazy last five minutes. Liverpool have seen their price increase a touch throughout Saturday and I assume that is because of the weather but it will take more than a few snowflakes to bring these two sides closer together. I expect a comfortable Liverpool win here.
I also can’t ignore the 28/1 and 10/1 on Virgil van Dijk to score first and anytime. Manchester United are horrendous from crosses full stop but particularly from set plays, corners in particular. Virgil van Dijk is one of the best attackers of the ball from set plays and in truth Liverpool don’t really have too much more to aim at without Konate so I’m expecting the Dutchman to be a real threat throughout this one. With top quality deliveries coming his way those prices are just too big.
