Premier League – Saturday 18th March Matches Betting Preview

The final quarter of the Premier League season begins on Saturday as another weekend of tantalising action awaits us in the top flight. We have seven matches to get things underway on Saturday with the regular three kick off times in play.

It looks like being another big day at the top, in the race for the top four and at the bottom which should make for plenty of drama and excitement.

Early Kick Off

The action begins at The Hawthorns where West Brom, playing for not that much now it has to be said, host an Arsenal side who will be desperate for the points to stay in touch and contention for the top four. Three defeats in four make this near enough must win for the Gunners.

3pm Matches

Five matches take place in the regular slot. There is a London derby at Selhurst Park where Crystal Palace will be desperate for points when they host Watford while at Goodison Park, Everton will look to keep their outside top four chances alive when they host a Hull City who are needing points badly themselves.

Leaders Chelsea can go 13pts clear if they can find a win at Stoke while at the other end of the table Sunderland really need a win at home to Burnley while Leicester could do with one in the capital when they head to West Ham.

Late Game

Two more sides in need to points to move away from the drop finish proceedings for the day when Bournemouth host Swansea. Bournemouth’s win last week was well timed but it will mean nothing if they don’t back it up against a fellow struggler. Swansea have made great improvements in recent times and need that to continue.

Betting

In truth I think this is a tough card to bet on in terms of the match results. There are a lot of odds on favourites but I think they are all vulnerable although the problem with opposing them is that if they do turn it on they can run out convincing winners which makes betting difficult. With that in mind I’m going to head to the goals markets for Saturday.

Neither Stoke nor Chelsea give too much away at the back so there has to be every chance that the two could cancel each other out. I don’t expect Stoke to give Chelsea any space in behind them and as such they are probably not going to be far enough up the field to regularly threaten Chelsea. I still think Chelsea might have enough to get it done here but I don’t see a landslide win. Stoke can stay tight and between them I think they’ll produce less than three goals.

I do expect to see goals at Bournemouth though where goals usually come in large supply. Swansea have a few defensive issues heading to Dorset but they are generally not the tightest side anyway but they do carry a goal threat. You would say the same about Bournemouth and if there is an early goal this should kick off into something like the 3-2 they produced here last season.
