Premier League – Tuesday 3rd January Matches Betting Preview

Three more Premier League matches take place on Tuesday night as the season heads into its second half and among those in action are title chasing Arsenal in what is a big night for them. It is a big night at the bottom of the table too with three of the bottom six all playing.

One of the matches is on TV which is the one at Bournemouth with the other two away from the live cameras. We’ll begin with the TV game.

Bournemouth vs Arsenal

Arsenal will be looking to reclaim third place in the table when they head south to take on a Bournemouth side who have quietly made it into the top half of the pile despite losing more matches than they have won this season.

Bournemouth go into the match off the back of a comfortable win over Swansea while Arsenal beat an awful Crystal Palace side so both should be confident. I fancy Arsenal will win this but they’ve lost their last two away games and played 24hrs after Bournemouth at the weekend so they offer little value.

Crystal Palace vs Swansea

Two sides at the wrong end of the table meet at Selhurst Park when Crystal Palace host Swansea in a match neither can afford to lose if they are to ease their way out of trouble. Both sides have new manager in situ which makes them harder to assess currently.

If there were some evens or odds against on Palace around I might have chanced them but given they played 24hrs after Swansea I’ll just let them win if they are good enough.

Stoke vs Watford

Two mid-table sides meet at the Britannia Stadium when Stoke host Watford and this is a match I like the home side in. Prior to their Christmas battles at Liverpool and Chelsea, Stoke were starting to make some progress this season and while that momentum has stalled Watford offer nothing like as stern a test.

Watford look in a bit of disarray. They have plenty of injuries but their lack of energy against Tottenham on Sunday was alarming and it won’t have helped them that Stoke played the day before and have had more time to recover.

I don’t think that will be the difference between the two as I think Stoke are the better side anyway but is certainly adds to my confidence that the home side should be good things in this one.
