Rothesay International Tennis 2023 – Quarter Finals Tips and Betting Preview

It is quarter final day at the Rothesay International on Thursday with all four matches being played out across the two main courts down in Eastbourne with the semi-final line-up being confirmed by the close.

We lost a couple of big seeds on Wednesday including the top seed and defending champion Taylor Fritz so there is a real open look about the competition from here on in which should make for some tense action on Thursday.

Centre Court

The fourth seed Francisco Cerundolo is the main draw in the opening match on Centre Court on Thursday. He will be looking to make the semi-final at the expense of the Chinese player Zhizhen Zhang who has had some week so far with wins over Lorenzo Sonego and the 2022 finalist Maxime Cressy. We then have to wait for a couple of women’s matches to be concluded before the second men’s match on the main court. That sees the highest ranked player left in the tournament in Tommy Paul going up against his fellow American player J.J. Wolf.

Court 1

The other two quarter finals come along over on Court 1 where we have to wait for the women’s draw to open the show but when the men do come along we have Mackenzie McDonald taking on the Swedish player Mikael Ymer who has had a good week so far. The other quarter final on this court sees Miomir Kecmanovic taking on Gregoire Barrere who is enjoying a good week but has lived life on the edge for much of it.

Betting

After three winners from the opening three bets of the tournament across the first three days, I’m not going to go too mad on Thursday because there isn’t a great deal that I like but I do think there is enough juice in the 4/5 on Miomir Kecmanovic to get the better of Gregoire Barrere. Barrere has done well to make it through to the quarter final but he has been on court a fair while this week having needed a deciding set in both matches and that might catch up with him soon.

Kecmanovic has largely breezed through the draw so far and has shown a little class at the right moments to pull him away from players who played well against him at times. The Serb might not be naturally suited to grass but you often find in these ATP 250 events that the class comes through when it matters and that is certainly with Kecmanovic. He has more experience at this stage of events and I think he has enough going for him to be taken at 4/5.

Tips

Back M.Kecmanovic to beat G.Barrere for a 3/10 stake at 1.80 with Betway
