There are plenty of matches to be rearranged in the Sky Bet Championship after a month where Covid decimated the division and two of those games take place on Tuesday evening when four teams go in search of three more points.
It is a night where events at the top of the table will once again be back in the spotlight as Fulham look to open up a bit of a gap. Three other teams are in need of points for their own respective aims so it should be a competitive evening.
Where to watch
These two matches are not on the main channel anywhere but those who have Sky Sports will have the chance to watch them both via the red button on the Sky Football channel.
Fulham vs Birmingham City (19.45)
The big game of the night comes from Craven Cottage where Fulham will be looking to move five points clear at the top of the table when they host Birmingham City who could do with a result to turn their season back on track.
Lee Bowyer won’t need me to tell him the size of the task facing his Birmingham outfit here. Fulham have come back from a month without a match due to various Covid issues by scoring 13 goals in two league games and they look like a team who are ready to take control of this division from here on in. Birmingham have one win in their last nine matches, scoring just seven goals in that time so Bowyer will need to find a way to get his side finding the net more if they are going to avoid getting dragged into a relegation battle. There is a vulnerability about this Fulham side though. Luton scored against them prior to that extended break and Bristol City scored a couple against them on Saturday so Birmingham, who do have a go on their travels, might contribute to the scoring here. You sense Fulham definitely will when you consider Blackburn put four past Birmingham recently while the likes of Peterborough and Milwall have scored three against them. I like over 3 goals here.

Preston North End vs Sheffield United (19.45)
The other match on the night sees two sides who are ensconced in mid-table meeting at Deepdale when Preston North End host Sheffield United with the pair of them knowing they could do with a win here to kick their campaign into life.
To be fair to both teams, they are in decent enough form. Preston have a couple of wins and a draw from their last three under new boss Ryan Lowe while Sheffield United’s defeat at Derby at the weekend ended a run of four straight wins so both will probably be feeling good about their chances here. Both teams have relatively new managers in place so they are still adjusting to a different style which makes betting on this one slightly more awkward. I think Sheffield United are the better side of the two but at the same time I like Ryan Lowe as a coach so I’m happy to give this one a miss.
