Sky Bet Championship 2021-22 – Wednesday 6th April Matches Tips, TV and Betting Preview

There are three matches in the Sky Bet Championship on Wednesday evening and despite the shortage of games it is an absolutely huge night in the second tier with the top of the table very much in the spotlight.

We will be able to watch two of the three matches on our screens although we will need more than one device to do it because there is a clash of kick off times. The usual ways of keeping up with the other one will be there for us all.

Wednesday’s fixtures are as follows: (7.45pm unless stated – UK TV in brackets)

Middlesbrough vs Fulham (Sky Football)

Nottingham Forest vs Coventry City (Sky Red Button)

West Bromwich Albion vs Bournemouth (8pm)

Preview

The top two are both in action on Wednesday night on an evening where the race for the Premier League is really on. Fulham are involved in the TV game and if they can pick up a win when they head to Middlesbrough they will move to within two wins of automatic promotion. They won’t find it easy against a Middlesbrough side who are good at home and who need to win to keep their play-off hopes in their own hands.

The other two matches have plenty riding on them too. Nottingham Forest will move into the top six in the table if they can get the better of Coventry City when the two meet at the City Ground. AFC Bournemouth have their destiny in their own hands and they will move nine points clear of third place if they win on Wednesday evening. They go to West Bromwich Albion for whom a reaction should be expected after what Steve Bruce described as the worst game he has seen in their defeat to Birmingham City on Sunday.

Betting

Coventry City have had a good season but they have just found the going a little too tough over the last month or so and I don’t think it gets any easier for them on Wednesday evening when they head to Nottingham Forest who are looking pretty rampant right now. The one issue Coventry will have in this match is they are not the strongest in the left-back department and that Forest right side is scary good at this level so that has to be a concern.

The other concern is that the only team that Coventry have beaten on their travels outside the bottom six this season are Blackpool and that was early in the campaign when they were finding their feet at this level. Forest look like a team with the bit between their teeth at the minute. They have scored 11 in their last three Championship matches and were inches away from taking the lead against Liverpool in the middle of that run. I expected the hosts to be a little shorter than this but I’m happy to back them at the prices.

Back Nottingham Forest to beat Coventry City for a 3/10 stake at 2.00 with Betfred
