Preview

The TV cameras as far as the main channel are concerned head to the southern part of the capital as promotion chasing Millwall take on a Birmingham City side who will be looking to play the role of spoiler. Millwall moved three points clear in the race for the play-offs and with the two sides immediately below them in the table facing off on Wednesday, they can go a long way to securing a play-off spot with victory. Sheffield United are eight points away from guaranteeing a return to the Premier League and they will be looking for three of those when they play host to Bristol City on Tuesday evening.

Burnley have already secured their promotion back to the big time and could be crowned champions on Tuesday evening. Were they to better the Sheffield United result when they head to the New York Stadium to take on Rotherham United they will officially be the champions. At the other end of the table, Wigan Athletic could see their relegation confirmed this week unless they can find a win away to Stoke City. Blackpool will look to build on their win over Wigan on Saturday when they host WBA who need to win to keep their play-off hopes intact. Sunderland are also in the West Brom boat when they welcome Huddersfield to the Stadium of Light.

Betting

Rotherham United head into their match with champions-elect Burnley with just one win in six matches and although at the minute they find their heads safely above the relegation zone, they might soon be looking over their shoulder. If you look at the table from an expected goals point of view then they would be bottom of the pile so this poor run isn’t so much that, rather more that they have overachieved for the rest of the season.

I saw them first hand on Saturday and they looked an ordinary side who soon ran out of attacking ideas and were pretty easily beaten by Luton and I expect them to go the same way against Burnley. The lazy observation from the Burnley 0-0 draw with Reading at the weekend was that the foot has come off the pedal now that they have been promoted but they won the xG battle in that match 1.02-0.34 so they dominated it without finding the back of the net. I expect a more ruthless edge from them here against a Rotherham side who do not have the level of individuals in their defence that Reading had. I expect a comfortable away win in this one.
