Super Bowl LV – Player and Team Prop Markets Tips and Betting Preview

Super Bowl LV is on the horizon and as ever for the big show there are a huge number of markets for punters to get stuck into from the kick off right through to the final play of the game and everything that might happen in between.

Usually we have markets about the national anthem and the half time show as well but with both being low key and potentially pre-recorded due to Covid-19 no firms are taking the chance on that this year. Despite that though, there are still three bets we like from the player and team props.

Player Receiving Yards

Two of those bets come in the form of the player receiving yards markets where I like a couple of Tampa Bay players. I’m expecting them to be playing from behind in this match so Brady may well need to pass the ball more than they would like and as such a couple of his ‘lesser’ options might see some action. One of those is Scott Miller who is down the pecking order in the wide receiver list but with all the injuries the Buccaneers have Miller has seen action in all postseason matches so far. He has a receiving line of 18.5 yards here and he isn’t going to be a short threat receiver. He’ll be chasing the long ball and there might well come the time when Brady has to send it deep and I’ll take the chance Miller makes the play.

In top level sport we often see stars revert to what they know when the big pressure matches come along so I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see Brady look for his good friend Rob Gronkowski during this match. Gronk has largely been used as a blocker in the run game this term but with only really Antonio Brown having Super Bowl experience in the receiving core of this side Brady might well utilise the experience of the man who he was alongside for so many New England Patriots’ Super Bowl titles. Gronk has a receiving line of 29.5 yards here and in the previous match against Green Bay he only caught one pass which went for 29 yards. If he sees more passes here I expect him to cover this line tidily.

Team Sacks

I also like the idea of Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the team sacks market. Kansas City Chiefs have a bit of a banged up offensive line and are missing their left guard which could well put Patrick Mahomes in a bit of danger in terms of his blind side being exposed. Usually we wouldn’t worry too much because the Kansas City Chiefs’ quarterback can use his legs to get away from any trouble, but he has been carrying a niggle throughout the postseason so that isn’t as guaranteed as always.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have a team sack line of two here and having got to Aaron Rodgers at will in the NFC Championship game I expect them to go quarterback hunting here. The likes of Jason Pierre-Paul will have their eyes light up against this Chiefs O-line and over the course of the four quarters I expect him and his support rushers to get home on at least three occasions and keep Mahomes in relative check.
