We have a busy Friday night in the Super League as the remaining five matches in the current round of fixtures takes place to allow every team to prepare for the hectic Easter schedule next weekend. That gives us plenty to have a go at on what feels like an important night leading into the holiday period.
Of those five matches we have one on TV which comes from Elland Road and then we have the usual ways and means of keeping up to date with the other games.
TV Match
The TV match is a repeat of the Grand Final from last season as the Leeds Rhinos host the Castleford Tigers. The Rhinos upset the odds to come out on top at Old Trafford in October and the roles have reversed here. This time it is the Rhinos who are the favourites to win and the Tigers who are looking to knock them off their perch.
Other Matches
The other four matches are all interesting in their own right. Hull FC take on bottom of the pile Catalans Dragons while the Warrington Wolves host Wakefield Trinity. St Helens will look to bounce back from their first defeat of the season last week when they head to Craven Park to face Hull KR with the other match seeing Wigan Warriors taking on the Huddersfield Giants at the DW Stadium.

Betting
I like two bets on Friday night with the first being the Castleford Tigers who may well be inspired playing at Elland Road. The Tigers should be nice and fresh after their match was postponed last weekend. Leeds Rhinos had a tough battle with St Helens last week which although they came out on top in their injury list is going to hamper what they can do in terms of resting anyone who picked up niggles from that match. There isn’t much between Leeds and Castleford so at the prices I fancy the visitors to gain Grand Final revenge.
The other bet I like is for Wakefield Trinity to stay within eight points of the Warrington Wolves. The Wolves have made a difficult start to the season although they had a resounding win over Catalans in France last week. Although the scoreline was a wide margin win you never get anything but a physical battle against the Dragons so Warrington might be a little leggy or drained. Wakefield shouldn’t be. They only played 20 minutes before their match was abandoned last weekend. They are playing some good rugby right now and getting more than a converted score is a couple of points too many.
