There are three matches on a busy Saturday in the Super League and for those of us who enjoy watching the top flight of English rugby league we have two of those matches on TV which gives us plenty to enjoy over the course of the day.
The TV matches are the first two to kick off and we will begin our preview with those matches. While the other one is not on TV there are plenty of ways to keep up to date with everything as per usual.
Salford Red Devils vs Warrington Wolves
The first match is an interesting blend between a Salford Red Devils for whom already survival looks to be the foundation for a successful season and a Warrington Wolves side who have quietly snuck into third place in the table and looking to push on from there.
Salford have a decent enough record on their own patch but they will need to show their best form here as Warrington have won their last four matches. That said three of those wins were against Catalans, Widnes and Wakefield. The win over Castleford on Monday was a lottery with the waterlogged pitch.
Warrington are being asked to cover 10pts which usually I would side with them on but that pitch they played on in the Monday clash at Castleford was an absolute bog so they could be carrying some heavy legs. I don’t really trust Salford at the minute so I’ll sit this one out.
Catalans Dragons vs Wigan Warriors
The Catalans Dragons picks up a much needed win on Easter Monday when they saw off the Huddersfield Giants and now they will go in search of back to back successes when they host the Wigan Warriors. Wigan will also be after successive victories after they beat Hull KR on Monday.
The Dragons know that if they are to stay in the Super League then they are going to have to maximise their home form. That said this is going to be a tough match for them because not only are Wigan going well this season but they were able to rest players on Monday who they bring back here.
We’ve seen already in this campaign that France is not as tough a place to go as it has been in previous seasons and with Wigan likely to be heavily up for the fight as they look to put the defeat of last week behind them I expect the Warriors to win and cover the 10pts they are being asked to overcome.

Hull KR vs Widnes Vikings
Two of the expected struggling sides this season meet at Craven Park when Hull KR and Widnes Vikings look to put ordinary Easter’s behind them to pick up what would be a hugely sought after victory here.
Hull KR lost the derby and then got blown away at Wigan over Easter while Widnes were well beaten by both the Warrington Wolves and St Helens over the holiday period. With that in mind assessing the state of these two sides won’t be easy. My gut feeling is that Hull KR will win this but the prices are about right.
