The Super League weekend continues with another couple of matches on Saturday as the competition heads towards the final ten rounds of the regular season. We’ve already seen some competitive action this weekend and should get more on Saturday.
Of the two matches one of them comes from France which as always is live on our screens while the other one has enough ways of keeping up to date whether it be via radio commentary, social media or scoring apps.
Hull KR vs Warrington Wolves (15.00)
There is something of a bottom against top battle away from the TV cameras on Saturday when second from bottom Hull KR take on second placed Warrington Wolves in what is probably a bigger match for the home side than the visitors.
Warrington can still win the leaders shield but in reality they will know St Helens are probably away and gone in that race so this one could be all about Hull KR, who begin life under Tony Smith in this match, and who need the points because they are only off the bottom of the table on point difference.
There is an interesting dynamic to this match with Smith coaching against the side he had so much success with and given that we don’t know the improvement that Hull KR will make, if there are any at all, I’m not massively keen on betting on this one.
Catalans Dragons vs London Broncos (17.00)
The live game on Saturday comes from Perpignan where the Catalans Dragons will look to move up to third place in the table with a win when they entertain a London Broncos side who could come off the foot of the ladder if they can emerge victorious.
The Broncos head into this match off the back of a fine win over St Helens last week and will be looking to build on that against a Catalans side who saw a run of three wins in a row ended at Warrington last week. Even so, they should be in good spirits despite that loss so we should get a good game here.
These two sides are two of the three lowest scoring teams in the competition so I like under 53.5pts here. The only one of the Catalans’ last six league games to go over was when they were beaten by St Helens. Only one of London’s last six have cleared this line too. There were only 45pts in the reverse meeting and if this is one-sided it is hard to see 54pts being scored and if it is competitive both teams would need high 20s each. It all looks a few points too high to me.
