Preview

The live match on Thursday evening sees the two sides on the outside of the top six looking in battling it out in what is a huge match for Hull FC and the Castleford Tigers as they look to pick up the win which could keep them in contention for the play-offs. The winner will be hoping Hull KR slip up over the course of the evening too as that would also boost their chances. Rovers host Wakefield Trinity in another Yorkshire derby.

The top three are all in action on Thursday evening too. Catalans Dragons have had their Covid-19 issues recently which might leave them vulnerable for their trip to the Salford Red Devils while St Helens will continue their title defence against the Leigh Centurions. The other match sees the Huddersfield Giants taking on the Warrington Wolves in what might be the most interesting match of the evening.

Betting

The non-televised matches all look a little too one-sided for my liking but I’m in no mood to be taking teams to cover big handicaps in this brutal schedule when it is just about winning and moving on to the next encounter, especially for those who are battling hard for the top six. I suspect the likes of St Helens and Warrington will cover because their squad depth is better but the lines are too much for me to get involved with.

There is a bet that I do like though which comes in the form of the Castleford Tigers beating Hull FC who might suffer something of a comedown from that epic success over Hull KR on Saturday afternoon. They have lost Josh Reynolds and Joe Cator for the season from that game and while Manu Fonua and Chris Satae return here, they put in a super amount of effort in the derby. Castleford have things much easier against Wakefield overall and head to the MKM Stadium having won their last three matches. I always say when Cas have a settled side they are a threat to anyone and I fancy they can show that here by seeing off Hull FC.

Tips

Back Castleford Tigers to beat Hull FC for a 3/10 stake at 2.25 with Coral
