We were due to have three matches in the Super League on Monday evening but the Covid-19 problems that are running through some of the teams mean that we are reduced to just the one as the competition continues beyond the halfway mark of the season.
The one match is left sees two potential Grand Final sides clashing at the Halliwell Jones Stadium as the Warrington Wolves go up against the Leeds Rhinos in a game between two sides who are in good form.
Where to watch
Thankfully this was always going to be the televised offering of the three matches scheduled. The match will be shown live on the Sky Sports Main Event, Sky Sports Arena and Sky Sports Mix channels. The build-up gets underway at 7.30pm with the match a 7.45pm kick off.
Warrington Wolves
The Warrington Wolves are starting to show us the signs of a side who are capable of winning the Grand Final and you would think the decision to terminate the contract of Greg Inglis which is likely to open the door for George Williams to sign will only make them stronger. What has been impressive is that they haven’t just put poor sides to the sword in this four match winning run, they have put a marker down against some bigger sides as well.
Warrington have been scoring plenty of points in this four game burst and while there isn’t a complete tightness at the back, they showed against St Helens that they can stifle the best sides when the need arises. Now they have to maintain this level for three more months and not let sloppy performances or the inconsistency which has previously been their undoing in recent campaigns.
Leeds Rhinos
The Leeds Rhinos only won two of their opening eight matches as they had to navigate through a horrendous run of injuries early in the campaign, but they have won their last three outings which due to Challenge Cup dates and Covid-19 issues with their opponents have been ridiculously spaced out, so they look to be finding a way to play without some key players, which was always going to be a good thing because important personnel were going to return at some point.
You can argue that in Castleford Tigers, Salford Red Devils and Leigh Centurions, the Rhinos haven’t beaten much in this three match burst but sometimes it isn’t who you beat, it is how you beat them which is the impressive thing. They have won those three matches scoring 146 points and only conceding 36. That sort of form is that of a side who can be devastating and can only give them confidence when they head into the bigger matches like this one.

Team News
Toby King comes back into the Warrington Wolves setup for this match and he is likely to go straight back into the starting 13 for this one. There will be no more Greg Inglis for the Wolves has he has been released from his contract.
Leeds Rhinos remain without a couple of key players in Ritchie Myler and Luke Gale but they will welcome Ash Handley and Konrad Hurrell back from injuries while Alex Mellor and Bodene Thompson come back from their bans to make them stronger.
Betting
This should be a cracking encounter. I think it might be stretching it a little for the Leeds Rhinos to win the game but I’m very surprised they are getting as many as 16 points on the handicap with some firms. For a side who are scoring as many points as the Rhinos are that is a huge start to be giving them even allowing for the fact that the Wolves are in decent form themselves. The only thing that matters to them here is getting the two points not running up the score, especially right now when the schedule is a little crazy.
These two sides only played in the middle of last week so there are going to be some heavy legs on show. The fact Leeds have four fresh players coming back probably shouldn’t be understated and can keep them close here if not assist them to pull off a major upset. We saw St Helens look a little jaded the longer Sunday’s match went on and similar could happen here. I like the Rhinos to stay within 16 points of their hosts here.
