The Super League XXX season continues on Friday night when another two matches in the competition take place across the country as the league table begins to take shape as we head towards Easter.
As is the case throughout the campaign, both of these matches will be live on TV for us to watch and follow any bets we have although you’ll need a couple of devices to watch both as they kick off at the same time.
Leigh Leopards vs Wakefield Trinity (20.00 – Sky Sports+)
The lesser of the two games on Friday night, at least as far as the television coverage is concerned, is the one between the Leigh Leopards and Wakefield Trinity in what is expected to be played out in front of a decent crowd at the Leigh Sports Village.
Leigh go into this match off the back of a bit of a humbling by Hull KR on Sunday where they were put firmly in their place and they will be looking to bounce back and show that they are a whole lot better than that. Wakefield were edged out by the other Hull last week in a game which was much more competitive and perhaps crucially they have had the better part of an extra 48 hours to recover from that. Leigh look quite short to me here but I do think they are the better team. Whether they are 12 points or more better I would have my doubts though. The Leopards gave Catalans a bit of a going over here but that aside, in Super League at least, their attack hasn’t really flourished and while they are solid defensively you wonder if Hull KR exposed a chink in that armour. Wakefield are definitely improving under Daryl Powell and they have an underrated squad with the likes of Mason Lino pulling the strings, Tom Johnstone finishing off moves and players such as Mike McMeeken getting them down the field. I’d be surprised but not shocked if Wakefield won this but I think they are perfectly worth riding with a 12 point start against a Leigh side who’s attack looks a little clunky while they sort their half-back situation out. Wakefield have kept Hull KR, Warrington and Hull FC to 16 points or fewer this term and if they add Leigh to that collection then a 12 point start should be too much.

Warrington Wolves vs Leeds Rhinos (20.00 – Sky Sports Action)
The pick of the matches on Friday night is the one which comes from the Halliwell Jones Stadium where two sides who will be expected to be top six candidates and more this term meet when the Warrington Wolves host the Leeds Rhinos.
It had been a bit of an up and down, inconsistent start to the season for the Warrington Wolves but we finally got to see what they were all about last weekend when they went to St Helens and won a cracking game and if that is the benchmark of what they are going to deliver from here on in then they will win more matches than they lose for sure. We shouldn’t be too critical of their start to the season because they had the Vegas trip and the limelight and razzmatazz that went with it. Leeds are a side I just can’t work out. Whether it is my expectations of them or not I’m not sure but they saw off the Wigan Warriors last week which was encouraging, although they kind of fell over the line against a Wigan side missing a few players. I have the gut feeling that their performances haven’t been to the level of their results, which from their point of view is no bad thing, but doesn’t really help us when it comes to betting. My hunch is Warrington will be too good here now that Marc Sneyd brings a whole new dimension to the party but I want to be more convinced of where Leeds are before I get involved in their matches at present so I’ll sit this out.
